54" Octagon table with a custom themed cloth which I think fits the shape of the table pretty nicely.

The first picture has a nice shadow of my arm on the felt...

That chain link racetrack is brilliant!

It seems to me the legs might be a nuisance for 4 of the players. Otherwise a fine table for someone into MMA.

Looks great. I love seeing other octagon tables. If I ever build another table I'd go with a bigger one as my 48" gets a little tight with more then 6 players at it.

I love this set up. The art is not as interesting to me since I'm a lover not a fighter. ;)

How much does a table like this go for?

Agree 100% about the chain link design. Perfect for the octagon.

P.Z. is right...this table is screaming for a pedestal to keep people from bumping the legs. Pedestal that has a flat bottom, not feet.

I originally had folding legs picked out for my octagon but realized that they were always going to be in the way for 4 of the 8 people. I bought some single leg pedestals that screw on and off and they work perfect because those 4 people straddle the legs. No one has ever complained or hit themselves on those 4 pedestals. They were kinda pricey at like 65 bucks for the four of them but can hold 250 pounds per leg.

This table was originally going to have a pedestal but for transportation reasons it has the folding legs. If I can move a pedestal around more easily then I may swap out the base.

A cheaper alternative for future consideration: Ikea tables. Even cheaper when purchased off of Craigslist. Base unscrews easily from the Ikea table and can be remounted to the poker table. Legs quickly screw into/out of the base for storage. I wouldn't put 1000 lbs on them, but if you have that many chips on the table, you may want to consider coloring up...

Very nice !

I have a ufc casino blackjack layout that i picked up a couple of years ago that i have beed itching to mount

Yeah I have some of those laying around. I might swap them out. When I was playing on it I was one of the players with the table legs at my spot but they weren't totally in the way. Those pole legs just aren't easily removable and the table gets moved around a lot.

That table looks amazing. Do you mind sharing where you get your folding legs. I've been using the cheap canadian tire specials. They work fine but I'd love to find something a little nicer to put on my tables

ive had this idea for a long time. glad someone tried it. looks amazing. i will have a table like this made soon enough. great work

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I get the folding legs from a local supplier here in Vancouver. I don't know where else you would find them.

I haven't replied to the comment about the table's price right now as I'm in the middle of adjusting my prices. Basically right now I charge $649 for a basic table which includes a padded black vinyl rail, padded playing surface, velveteen or NVSC and folding metal legs. Adding cup holders is another $165 and a custom cloth is $395. That would make this table cost $1209 (it should actually cost more because I charge more for round/octagon tables larger than 48" since I need 5x5 plywood which costs more). For a basic table, this cost is high. However, for my higher end poker tables, my costs are cheap compared to other builders because I use the same basic scale of starting with a basic table and adding options.

I am thinking of offering a standard model which is cheaper than the cost I mentioned above which is more reasonable for these basic tables. The problem is that these basic tables aren't very worth building for me since the profit margins are low and the time to build each one is relatively high. I am not able to mass produce them to make up for the small profit margins. My bread and butter is the higher end poker tables so until I can figure out a way to justify making these more basic table profitable I can't really adjust the price. The quality and craftsmanship on these basic models is still far superior to any imported from China table and I have had a number of people buy the basic models. I guess I'm just trying to let everyone know as to why the price for a basic-ish table which you can probably buy on amazon for half the price is what it is.

I had a friend once that wanted me to build him a table. Since he was a friend I was willing to do it for little more than cost. He balked and tried to bargain down the price. I just don't think people understand that a real table will last a lifetime - even if you have kids that play in the room or on the table when you are not around ("the floor is made of lava"). Cheap cardboard tables just won't hold up, and are priced to be disposable. He never got the table, though he does occasionally ask if the prices have come down.
