Cash Game Feedback for my combined Cash/Tournament set amounts (1 Viewer)

I am looking to maybe get a set of chips for both cash and/or tournament games. I know from reading around that it is better and safer to get two different sets, and I will one day, but for now I am just playing with friends and trust everyone. We would be doing probably $20 or $25 buy-in with no re-buys for 10 people max. sometimes we do .05/.25 or .25/.25 or .25/.50

I have looked up a few videos and posts and have been trying to pick chip amounts. A lot of the time people suggest non 100x amount of a chip, especially the higher demons, but something about that makes my brain itch! Are my amounts crazy off and way overkill?

(I picked Cash prefix because that's where I have most of the chips, I hope that's ok even though I am asking about both.)

If you prefer only multiples of 100 chips, then for your tournament portion you can use:
100x $500
100x $1000
100x $5000
100x $25000
which gives you a 10-person set with starting blinds 500/1000 and 100-300BB deep with enough extra $5000 to colour up all the $500 ad $1000.

You can do the same with the numbers divided by 1000, which duplicates cash chips from 50c to $25.

You really only need
100 5c
200 25c
200 $1
I would get
300 $5 or 400

This is from experience that too many chips in a cash game ( of the lower denomation) isn't a good thing.
That way you will rarely have to mix your cash and tournaments denomations. ( Presume you play T25)

Ok this is really good information. Yea sorry T25 I forgot to say. Would def have been using my 25s in both sets.

If I am going to use 25s in my tournament set do I need the 25000s?

Not as familiar with tournament structure as cash so you will have to do some research.

If you're going thr Tina route. I recommend getting two different set between cash and tournaments...

Or at least get more $5s and plaques for the cash game.

If you play max .25/.50 cash and a T25 tournament you effectively have to sets. As the chips used are different, you don't need 25s and up for the cash game.

If you truly just want one set then do a T0.05 tournament set up, that'll save you a lot of chips.

nickels - 120
quarters - 200
$1 - 200
$5 - 140
$25 - 40

Would work just fine for both and is half of the chips in the op.

If you are buying 1400 chips, then just buy a cash and tournament set. Plenty of breakdowns for cash and tournament in the 600 chip vicinity.

I will probably pick some Tina chip design and order in this current group buy. Basically in my original numbers the 25-5000 chips would be for tournaments, and the .05-5 (maybe .05-25) would be for cash.

So you are making 2 sets, with the same theme, similar inlay. Take the dollar sign off the higher denominations and they are two separate sets.

If I were you, I'd skip the nickels and just make .25/.25 the lowest cash level I'd go. Even then you don't need a bunch of quarters, unless your friends are cheaper than any group I've played with. Most .25/.25 games I've played in, the $1s do the bulk of the betting and calling and I play with some cheap players, so I have a good amount of $1s. Some .25/.25 games and a fair amount of .25/.50 games the workhorse is the $5 as bets seem to be made with them. Depends on the game, but most cash games I've been in, there is one chip that is used the majority of the time when betting and seldom if ever is it the chip that is used for the blinds. One other thing I'd suggest is using $20 chips instead of $25s for the cash portion. Won't get used a bunch, but sure makes rebuys and cashouts easier than $25s. Also makes a clear line between a cash set and a tournament set, $20s are cash, T25s are for tournament play.

Skip the 25s and go 10/4/7/2 for $20k starting stacks (100/500/1000/5000). It's less chips and saves you a colour up. The Blind structure is in this video @ 10:47

It's fine to round up to the nearest 100 (rack) but a lot of us look for efficiency when putting breakdowns together... Some of these guys are spending $5+/chip so they definitely are not rounding up to the nearest rack lol
