February 12th - Multi Casino Sale (1 Viewer)

THE HORSESHOE CINCINNATI - The sale date is 1/1/17

SECONDARY UNCIRCULATED CHIPS

$25 - $2.49 EACH (400 MAX)
$100 - $3.49 EACH (200 MAX)
$500 - $7.49 EACH (100 MAX)

I can't tell you how much will sell or how quickly but I can tell you that you will not see lower prices a week later. I'm sure the higher denominations will not move as fast as Cleveland for obvious reasons but there is a much smaller supply of them.

SUNDAY - FEBRUARY 12TH at 3PM EST

SECONDARY

$25 Horseshoe Cincinnati = $1.99 Each
$100 Horseshoe Cincinnati = $2.99 Each
$500 Horseshoe Cincinnati = $6.99 Each

$1000 Horseshoe Cincinnati = $22.99 Each
$5000 Horseshoe Cincinnati = $34.99 Each
$25,000 Horseshoe Cincinnati = $69.99 Each

So, not a week later, but a month later. Got it.

Perhaps I should wait for the March prices. Or perhaps the October prices rather? Hmm... decisions, decisions.

...and that is how Rainman got banned from ChipExchange sales... ;)

I figured I'd draw criticism for drawing attention to the fact that he effectively did exactly what he said he wouldn't do with the pricing. But I raise a valid concern. If these don't sell out again, what will the prices be next month, or perhaps the month after that?

Really? You don't see this as a topic worth addressing? Those of us who bought these chips at last month's higher prices after considering the words quoted above probably feel otherwise.

Probably, but I also understand that a portion of the profit made by site vendors is paid back to Tommy to maintain their status as a site vendor. The money that Tommy makes keeps PCF up and running.

That golden banner that reads "site vendor" means that this guy is selling chips for a profit, and is supporting our hobby. Writing anything that would dissuade people from buying his inventory is not good for the site, the hobby, or the members.

As for dropping prices, I know of someone else (that does not financially support the site) that cut their prices exactly 5 minutes after commenting on the Chip Exchange price change. I wonder if there is a connection... o_O

It has almost always been the case that initial sale prices were higher because you got to choose from the cream of the crop and build a set... later sales were almost always lower prices to get rid of extra, less desirable inventory. It's a straight up model of supply and demand.

NOT in HIS Thread!

I'm truly baffled by the responses in this forum at times. My post literally just quoted HIS posts and HIS promise from this very sale.

As a buyer, I feel deceived.

I've said my piece.

I really did not think posting this within his thread was cool. So now we can point out what we think within your sales thread? I do not feel that was right (my opinion) and I am sure you would not like for someone to post about your pricing within your sales thread.

I have no problem with him selling for five weeks and then announcing a price adjustment. And the prices aren't too far below what we've been paying anyway. He now has a better sense of demand for each chip and is just spurring interest to move his inventory.

In other words, I do not feel like I got ripped off. Nor do I think there will be a huge run on any of them now, except perhaps the uncirculated $5s.

The short price decrease shouldn't really matter unless you are trying sell now. He is the one that brought these lovely chips into the market. So he gets to set the price he chooses. Either buy more to lower your average price per chip or don't buy chips.

Well for being in the chipping community for a little over a year (pretty sure I don't recognize the name from CT) you sure have a lot of omniscent posts. AND as a buyer you got what you wanted in the first sale, as you can see not everything is available this time around.

HIS word was a week and here it is 6 weeks later he still has product to move, I'm pretty sure HE has the right to dictate prices of HIS merchandise (not you). All of us that have been around for a few years knew the prices would come down if there was extra inventory.

NO.

Those of us that have been around knew there was probably a metric shit ton of $1's and $5's, and also knew many people loaded their chip coffers after the last TCR sale (of which I was actually shocked when it sold out, but I'm guessing a lot those were bought by flippers). I'm curious what your response would have been when TCR put chips on Black Friday sales for .25 that were normally sold for .70-.90.

In other news, I got to go inside a tiger's cage today. With the tiger inside of course. Good times, good times.

Carry on...

On what Planet is prices going down a valid concern for buyers???

Planet Fliptopia.

On planet fliptopia you would still want the price to come down so you could buy and flip, But I don't think Rainman is even flipping these. Your already bought chips may go up in value once there are more sets in the wild and the source runs dry.

Just as a reminder for everyone or if you didn't see the earlier post. The individual pricing on the $25s, $100s and $500s is a little higher then what it is in the sets.

Primary set Example: If you bought the chips for the primary "Cash Set" individually it would cost you $20 more then buying the set.

Secondary set Example: If you bought the chips for the "100 High Stakes Heads up set" individually it would cost you $40 more then buying the set.

The individual pricing allows you to customize your breakdown. You are paying for the flexibility but if you are open to figuring out a breakdown that you are happy with by buying a variety of sets you will save some money. There are no restrictions on how many sets you can buy other then what is available in the sale.

ABOVE QUOTE is the very next post in the original sale thread dated Dec29th that RAINMAN TRAIL is referring to.

Almost every price in this sale is a reflection of the original set pricing, I only offered individual pricing on the $25s, $100s and $500s after being begged by the forum to do so. So as stated above I raised the Individual pricing on those denominations only and have now brought them back down to as close as I can to the original set pricing.

You don't see this as a topic worth addressing?
Travis, I think the larger issue here is ~where~ you chose to post, rather than ~what~ you chose to post. Historically, thread-crapping is not allowed in sales threads, and vendor sales threads are no exception (in fact, I'd be surprised if all of the comments made so far aren't eventually removed by a moderator). Feel free to air your pricing concerns in a separate thread, but they don't belong in this one.

Anyone tried to shine up the garden city chips? Just wondering how well they clean up. Please post a pic if you gottem...

Dumb question, but how does the actual sale work? Do we simply start sending him PMs or simply post on this thread? I'm a noob.

at 3 PM est, on the first post of current topic, paypal links will appear below each chip category and you will fill your paypal cart with those sweetties ^^

Wondering if anyone on this thread is in the Minneapolis area and could offer ultrasonic cleaning services to me - I don't have a cleaner and would prefer to avoid cleaning chips with a toothbrush etc. thanks!

Im buying a ultrasonic cleaner once my package arrives.
Searching for stuff at home to clean, just to motivate it :D
