There are a ton of poker scenes in movies throughout our time. My favorite scene that really sticks in my mind is in the movie "Rounders" with Matt Damon and Edward Norton. The scene when Matt Damon beats the Russian at the end of the movie is awesome! I love how he figures out his tell sign with the Oreo cookies. What's your favorite poker scene from a movie:confused:

Cincinnati Kid . . . opening scene where he's playing in that dive in the Railyard.

The villain, shocked at losing exclaims that "he ain't gonna put out $194 on a lousy pair" to which McQueen answers "You did . . ."

Oh man, tough question. The one you speak of in the OP is the most memorable to me though. I also recall a good scene from Deadwood with Wild Bill playing cards.

Crazy I watched Cincinnati Kid a couple years ago and can't remember any of it. Gonna watch it again. Thanks for reminding me.

Rounders is still the best poker movie, but I have to say I really enjoyed Molly's game even though it's not really a poker movie per se - the poker scenes, especially the one where the Commerce Casino grinder goes on tilt (after a sick run out), are pretty great.

Rounders, any scene - Because ASM chips.

A distant 2nd, Casino Royale (2006), because those plaques inspired my custom set using plaques.

Beyond that, I'm convinced that all poker played in movies is complete rubbish.

Rounders - the judges game. Also the scene where Mike comes home to find his girlfriend had moved out. Not because there's poker in that scene (because there's not) but you know from then on the poker is coming!

Either of the tombstone scenes. Not so much for the poker, but because I adore Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday.

"Maybe poker's just not your game. I know, let's have a spelling contest!" cracks me up every time!

Post #2,000 quoting Cool Hand Luke is more than appropriate.

Holy shit! This thread was resurrected from 4.5 years ago.

The 'peach of a hand' popped not my mind right away when I saw the title

Definitely the Sting. All the other movies mentioned are great as well but there’s nothing better than cheating a cheat.
