Fat Tire CPC... Set Design Thread (1 Viewer)

Love the progress that you've made! Loving the new inlay. Love the T5000 and in loving this chip, I might consider changing up the hundo a little so you're not using the same charcoal "wrap-around" color spot. Other than that...sweetness.

I may have missed this, but how about 1" inlays instead of 7/8" - gives you a little more room to enlarge the design elements. Looking good so far.

1'' inlays cannot be promised to be aligned properly, sometimes they overlap over the recessed area, at least that was what i told from david for the HHR mold

This... :( Had the same convo, and David provided some pics of "failed" 1" inlay designs. Not worth the risk, despite being my first choice.

Yep, Info from CPC "We can do 1 inch on the Amold but it isn’t recommended because the edges of the inlays drop into the circle on the mold as that is exactly 1 inch across. (just a warning)."

I know, I know... I get what you're sayin. but DAYUM that hundo looks sweet too... Despite the same charcoal spot.

Unless Something else sweeter comes along, I can't get myself to change it...

might change mind when color samples arrive

I'm convinced they're never going to get here. I don't want to be THAT guy who calls David to ask when he shipped the damn samples. But it's been 8 days since I ordered them. :(

I know, I know... I'm just being impatient (I get that)... For the record, I had knee surgery a week ago, and have just been sitting around the house (slightly bored) waiting for the damn samples... ha! If I'd been working, the week would have flown by. It's like being in school, and watching the classroom clock for the last bell... tick, tock, tick, tock... OMG! :)

OK, hopefully you all know I'm mostly joking around, right? The samples will get here when they get here... :sneaky:

Once you get the bug of receiving a partial design for an inlay and you have an idea on your colors/edgespots, the addiction begins to kick in and youre antsy in your pantsy to get this completed. everyone totally gets it, nothing to be ashamed of

BTW new inlay (like i said), looks great. I think you should at least look/post a mockup of color matched denoms, just to see what it looks like. The color match doesnt necessarily have to be the main chip color to the denom either. the only difficult part i would think would be the 100 and 5000 because of the abundance of grayish color, putting a grayish denom might not look great.

Just for fun, version 312 (just kidding). Did not spend a lot of time picking colors

I lika da yellow denoms betta.

Cha Cha (sorry just wanted a reason to post this clip)

Not a fan of color-matched denoms for this particular design. IMO, there's enough going on, and it's not consistent with that gorgeous table.

Yup, it's official, the jury has spoken @p5woody ... not going with color matched denoms. Although they do allow one to "take in" the chip more, I agree it's not a good fit here.

I personally like the color matched denom. It's a matter of if you want the denom to be quick to see or not. The yellow makes it a feature of the inlay, your eye goes right to it and you know what it is instantly. The color match blends in and allows the eye to take in the chip as a whole. I like that. A lot.

OK, here's what I'm waiting for the color samples for... Debate is the base colors of the 500 and 1000 chips.

Lavender or Purple AND DG Yellow or DG Saturn (I think these colors will vary greatly in person)

Lol waiting 8 days for samples. Welcome to our world ;)

Email from David explains they were shipped Friday via USPS "Priority".... Seems a long wait for priority mail? Oh well. There's always tomorrow.

and.. I say just press the order button and get it done!! You know you want them and it is the best design and colors yet.

Looking at the 100 chip. I'm leaning away from the tiger spot an thinking of replacing with a more vibrant red. The tiger looks too Halloweenish IMHO

Looking at the 500 chip I think I'm between a purple base color or DG peacock. I know there's a lot of peacock love going on, and I get it, but I'm just trying to make the set work

As for the 1000 chip I'm unsure about the base. Saturn has a greenish tinge and DG yellow seems a bit washed out

Canary.

Also check out Bens $20 for an example of black/charcoal/retro red. Looks awesome.

I was just going to say go Canary not DG Saturn but Stocky beat me to it. Ben's Via Lactea 5 is Canary and it's... AMAZING!!!!!
