I sent out the invitation for my December game last night at 6:30 pm. I had to push it back a week due to a holiday party, and it is now the Saturday before Christmas. I didn’t think it would fill, but I hit 30 players today at 1 pm. I then had 6 players on the waitlist, so I’ve decided to open a 4th table. I have 3 seats left I was shocked

Within 28 minutes of the email going out. I had to create a tiered email list to ensure my regs got seats. 20 seats though, not 30.

my tables fill up pretty quickly but that's after cultivating a long list of players over a long period of time. at the start it alway's takes a bit longer. i couldn't imagine if i moved to another state and have to start over again haha, i only sit 20 player's though. not 30

We’ve talked about moving, and I’d fear that I’d never even get 1/2 the players I have now.

I host a monthly tournament. $60 buy in, 1 rebuy per player. I set aside $10 of each buy in and rebuy for a year end freeroll event. Top 30 players qualify. No other games for me, as I just don’t have the time or energy.

the freeroll is generally in March

Cash games every two weeks. At each game, those players get first dibs on the next game before I text to fill in seats.

You aren't the only one. I have a monthly cash game and am constantly keeping on top of people, sending out reminders and trying to make sure people don't flake out at the last minute. I once had a game with 7 players that ended up at 4 because of last minute cancellations.

Empathy. I've been here. Like when people are already at the house for a pre-game beverage or on the road. Luckily, my hardened regs will play circus games to keep action going at a short table so it still works out, but I've gone through some tough stretches with attendance before.

Especially in single table games... people don't realize how much they are hurting the game by not showing... 6 is comfortable less than that not so much! Definitely last minute cancellations suck! @krafticus doesn't seem to have that problem we all want to play in that game!!! Amazing host if you ever get a chance to play at his place!!

I post a month ahead of time and struggle to get 6-7 Doesn't help that a couple regs stopped coming/moved away. Lots of players in the surrounding areas but they have so many options for games in their cities they won't travel to mine.

Do you own a hot dog roller? Gotta give them a reason to keep coming back!!! Every successful home game that I attend in our area is at full capacity and have hot dog rollers.... coincidence? I think not! I don't personally own one yet and don't want to because I would hate to have to turn players away!

I'm in this exact same boat. I have alot of people that are just too far away from my home and have other established games to join in. It's tough but I won't be discouraged. I'll keep chipping away...haha... intended pun!

I do a weekly game. I get all my RSVPs within the hour I sent out the message. Rarely a cancel, but it's a constant group.

My max is 32, record is 25. I usually get around 10 within a day or two, then another 10 during the last week. During these last 24h I usually get around 5-10 changes, yeses that become nos and vice versa. Doesn't matter, if you show up before the first break you get a stack, no problem.

I would be honored to play at your place Nav! It is definitely a drive... but your set up is insane and definitely top quality chips brother!!! you guys definitely need hotdog rollers! That has to be the problem up there!!!

Up to 39/40 now. I used to have 5 tables, with the largest game at 47. It just got to be too much to manage. This was before the dogs and corn. I’ll have to “beef” up the food and water this month.
