Found these online being sold by someone who doesn’t seem to know the difference between a poker chip and a potato chip. I can’t tell from the picture if they’re real or plastic. Seller describes them as “heavy.” I don’t see any injection mold signs. The hot stamp and case also look good for cheap plastic. But I’m a totally n00b, so what do I know!

Do y’all think these are diamond molds or plastic?

My vote is plastic. The wide inner ring can be a clue. And clay chips usually don't shine like that unless they're freshly oiled.

Those are definitely plastic. I’m sure if you had a close up pic, you’d be able to see an injection pip.

The diamond on the Paulson diamond molds are elongated, rather than just a rotated square.

Not surprised. Well, no cheap find for me, but I‘m glad for the help and the knowledge for next time. Thanks!

Keep in mind there are two types of plastic Super Diamonds. The ones you can find everywhere are hard and slick. There’s another version that are/were softer and less slippery, and stack and handle much better. My local casino uses them for tourneys. I’m not sure how to tell the difference in a pic. Perhaps @allforcharity can.

If the set is cheap enough, maybe you’d still want to grab it for the case.

They aren't terrible chips if you wanted a cheap set for travel, kids, or playing with a group that might damage them. It's just that they aren't clay.

Asking $40, but it isn’t local to me. If anyone in the Atlanta area is interested, I’m happy to share info.
