After 20 some odd years of playing poker, I was dealt my first royal flush (hearts) while playing poker at Harrah's Cherokee at a $1/$3 NLHE table Saturday afternoon. There was NO high hand jackpot/promotion going on, and while the pot was only worth $163 it was still quite the event for me.

No RF for me yet (only have been playing on-off for maybe 5y), but got close once with a SF 9-K clubs.

I’ve got on video poker, it was only $0.25 bet and won $200 like 7-8 years ago.

For real felt, quads with two pairs of 8s given on first two then a pair of 8s showed up on the river then went all in for like $20 on $0.05/$0.10 game then won $40 ish pot. Never Royal.

Once, while teaching a married couple who had never played before, I explained hand odds and then dealt an open hand. My friend gets pocket Kings and the flop comes K-K-*. I looked through the deck to make sure it had been properly shuffled (it had). First hand of poker in this guy's life! I freaked out. He shrugged.
