Does anybody knows/use these Dal Negro cards?

I‘m looking for a smooth, flexible and durable deck of cards, in modiano platinum quality.

Thank you!

Pretty good cards, you will like them.
It's hard to compare durability to Modiano Platinium as you would need to make a side by side test but they pretty durable but have more flex.
Downside is they made with security ink.

More flex sounds very good.
What‘s security ink, and why it‘s a disadvantage?
The smell??!

Security ink is a dark red rather than a bright red. It's less a downside a more a personal preference. I don't care one way or another.

Love the Dal Negro cards. Easily in my top five. I only wish they were easier to get in the US.
I'd worked out that security ink is dark red (or black to us red colour blindish). But what about it is secure?

Great - thanks for the infos guys!
The dark, burgundy red is absolute no issue (for me).

Aren't Dal Negro and Desjgn the same cards in print quality and handling? Is there any reason to seek them out instead of just buying Desjgn?

I’ve been playing with some dal negro grand slams (bridge 4 index) since I couldn’t find my copags. They have a good texture and aren’t too slick. I can’t remember where I got them from but I’ll likely try to buy a few more sets to keep on hand.

I'd love to know the answer to this question as well. And I believe the NTP brand of cards may be by Dal Negro as well, but I'm not sure how those stack up to regular Dal Negro or Desjgn. For this exact reason I have actually been looking for a Jumbo Index Bridge Size true "setup" by Dal Negro (meaning 2 decks in a single case) for a while now. Unfortunately the only ones I've stumbled upon lately have been extremely old, extremely used, and extremely beat up.

Some Desjgn are printed by Dal Negro, older runs were made by modiano.
DalNegro has at least 2 different stocks they printing on. NTP is DalNegro brand and has its own unique finish

Yes I believe the switchover was made towards the end of 2017, by which I mean Desjgn cards were on Modiano stock through 2017 and then on Dal Negro stock beginning in 2018. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure of trying those older Desjgns made by Modiano, but I understand that many PCF folk consider them to be among the very best playing cards ever created.

That said, out of all the playing cards that I have tried I'd say the newer version of Desjgn cards by Dal Negro are actually my overall favorite. I love virtually everything about them: the texture, the thickness, the flex / snappiness, the cut (I mean these things basically melt into a Faro shuffle), etc. Now obviously Jason of Desjgn deserves much of the credit in terms of putting the whole package together. But since Desjgn is indeed now manufactured in a Dal Negro facility and on one of their card stocks, I would just be very curious to try other cards by Dal Negro as well, especially if they have multiple different card stocks and finishes as you suggest. I will have to take a closer look at the NTP brand offerings now that I know for sure that they are Dal Negro as well.

Dal Negro bought NTP and the latter are still being produced in their „own“ factory in Milano - that’s what I‘ve read a while ago somewhere.
NTPs are very nice cards imo, worth giving a try!

Know any good websites for picking some up? NTP Floreales were my favorite cards to deal with 20 years ago, and I'd love to get some more setups.

I second this request. I've been looking for bridge size NTP cards with jumbo index for a while now, but the few hits that Google returns inevitably show as out of stock. I know there was a group buy of them back in 2003, but that was before I was savvy to PCF. And although Amazon seems to carry poker size with some regularity, I have yet to see them carry bridge size by NTP.

From Italy would be your best bet I guess. @Pippa has family there, maybe he can help?

I shipped 100 setups to the US last year. Someone should be able to part with a setup for you. It was the cards on the bottom left:

The finish/texture of the Grand Slam (Bridge) is like Desjgn -> smooth.
The Texas (Poker size) are pretty similar to Fourniers with a light texture, just great!
