Custom sets - GOAT - my pics (1 Viewer)

First of all: my nickname from my Aussie buddies is “cuntbert” and it’s a term of endearment around here. “He’s a good c*nt” is a standard way of saying someone’s a good person. But you can also be called “a right c*nt”, which isn’t so flattering. ;)

second: where can I grab this set? I’d move my monthly tournament to Tuesday for these chips!
Best is when you’re talking to the police “how can I help you c*nt-stubble”. They know it. I know it. But they can’t do anything about it  :ROFLMAO:

OK, I'll admit, I wasn't with you until I saw them in stacks. I *hate* oversized inlays. I mean, there is so much face art, that you can't even tell what the spots look like...until you see them in stacks. That $5, in stacks, is pure awesome. Stupid BCC split spots aside, these are a really cool looking set, even for oversized inlay.

I'm with @slisk250; I think it's the only giant inlay set I like.....prove me wrong. Ace's are close, but I don't like the design. Vineyard's don't do it for me

Just got my first racks of pny $25s after admiring from afar for over a decade.

I have to say that I'm wowed by them. I get that they can be more slippery but some of the artwork on a giant inlay is awesome, and totally makes it worth it imo.

Green $1s and Blues $5s. Thats the first time Ive seen those colours used on those denoms. After seeing these im surprised this colour scheme hasnt been used more for customs.
I think most here stick with the conventional colors. I'm a little in between. Personally I think it's best to go with the colors you like most and forget about the system.

I somewhat agree. I wouldn't say it's the ugliest for me but i will say that it's definitely overrated. Personally I prefer artwork over real photos for inlays.

Ya, definitely. I'm not a fan of giant inlays in general, but giant inlays with color matched artwork is definitely *far* superior to giant photo inlays. Photos are for framing and hanging on your wall. Not your poker chips.

Green $1s aren't all that uncommon. There are quite a few Cali sets with green $1s. But the green base on these is super pale. Almost a white color. However, technically, these $5s are a red, not blue. The inlays and spots are blue, but the base chip is red.

Entry #3 The Arizona Club ASM cash set by Albino Dragon

Great inlay using Esher’s reptile lithograph. The star of the show is the 5er. I haven’t seen any sets using pink and gray. It’s a fantastic chip! I like the overall choices of color and appreciate the originality

That one is awesome Mike!! Never seen them before! Not a huge fan of the hour glass mold but definitely works well here! Bright color matched Lizards, and ai like $100 quarter pie option taken off Overland and Pick Hobson TRK hundos!

@RainmanTrail green $1s are my favorite! Thank you Ventura, CA!!

Yah I remember this set. Everything was well executed; colour, inlay...etc. But I’m not a fan of the hour glass. I think it’s too busy and distracts everything else that was very well put together. Just my opinion

Yup, I’m no hourglass fan and looked past that obviously. This set would rock as a SCROWN.

Entry #4 - The Pines BCC flame and 4 suits mold MeredianFC

I love the inlay style and execution. Colors and spots are fantastic. There were some BCC quality issues, maybe the secondaries were made as replacement chips? Looks like the flame mold chips are all without issue. Four suits mold is great. Wish I had access to the mold and those great BCC colors.

Entry #5 ASM Circus City House of Cards - Lucky Dog E&C mold
This was the first quarter pie custom set I saw. Love the theme (his dad was a clown I thought, something like that). I begged for the E&C mold to return...and it did! This set inspired the Three Ring Circus sets I made in 2017. Love the classic inlay here, great font, great colors, red denoms. I’m not afraid of clowns.

The Pines was pretty badass. Totally forgot about that mold. Can't recall exactly on how it was offered for customs.

You can consider this thread my Custom Chip Hall of Fame. Sets that stand on top the mountain for one reason or another...no rules except they had to be commissioned and produced for the owner. I’ll unveil one set a week in no particular order.

BCC - made by boondocker in 2007 - this set was designed by a team of guys that used to play on Tuesdays. Great colors, great spots, classic all star inlay. Wow, just wow. The set had some love in voting threads in the past but isn’t the shiniest new thing and had disappeared from the community. I’d love to own these. If any old timers here have more pics, let’s see em.

Entry #6 The Bacement - ASM E&C cash - @Cliff

I first learned about this set when I started making dot chips...it turns out that Cliff did a few before my chipping time. Then I went sniffing around and saw these. Great fracs, good color, and I really like this inlay. Couldn’t find pictures without asking Cliff so I’ll leave these here until we can upgrade them. Hopefully Cliff and the Maryland crew can tell us more about these. I heard they may have been sold off.

WOW!!! Thanks Mike, certainly high praise coming from you. Unfortunately this set and I parted ways about 4 years ago. I believe they now reside in Idaho. Hopefully they are getting the love and felt time they deserve. These were designed by the man himself @Johnny5 in 2010 and I received them from ASM right after New Years 2011. I was mainly hosting tourneys with a little cash as people busted out. They were in excellent condition when they were passed on. No complaints or regrets, it was pretty close to a break even proposition for me. If I come across any pics I will post them.

Entry #7 - Broken Bell Cash Set - CPC Horsehead @Tommy

This is one of the very best sets out there and not talked about much. Maybe they aren’t hitting the felt in a public way? This is what you get when colors, history, spots and a perfect inlay come together. Perfect inlay for this set, parchment, font, stars, it’s all here. The progression is perfect, no weak chips...my only wish here is B mold...and I love B mold chips. Tommy, consider allowing these to go to a vote. It would be a runaway top selection...
