I am wondering if anyone can help me with figuring out the process of making a customized order of chips from sun fly or matsui or even abbiati. I personally would want at least a 1000 chip set but might want one up to 2000. Also who of those have the best price for what you get? I like more rounded edges instead of squared off edges so I was thinking maybe sun fly would be best but if anyone has experience with squared off edges poker chips that shuffle very well I would be interested.

I don't know if Matsui or Abbiati would look at such a small order, and even if they did it would be very cost prohibitive.

Ceramics from Sun-Fly and @ABC Gifts and Awards would definitely be doable. The latter is an official forum sponsor here, and I would highly recommend you look at their customization menu. Ceramics offer a level of customization which is unparalleled.

Matsui and Abbiati will be significantly more costly than ceramics from ABC, or ceramics or hybrids from Sunfly. Probably close to twice as much.

ABC Gifts and Awards/BR Pro (same ownership) has great quality chips and terrific service.

Chips from ABC and Sunfly will stack, handle, and shuffle great. However, the really sharp-edged chips from Matsui shuffle fine.

Thank you, I have looked into them and their other website brpropoker and I will be ordering a rack or 2 of custom 47mm chips. In general I am not interested in regular custom ceramics, I'm more interested in premium ceramics or premium plastics like abbiati or Matsui. Again thank you for the suggestion.

You noted sunfly hybrids, which I believe Gene is the guy for.

Thank you for the info. I know there have been a few group buys of Matsui and I just saw the first group buy I've sen of abbiati and yes the prices are high especially when the order would be so low. I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the next group buy. I meant to ask allforcharity if there is much of a difference in quality between say ordering custom ceramics from ABC or the sun fly hybrids. Personally I like the shiny edges that the sun flys have. So are regular custom ceramics have less quality compared to sun flys?

Sorry, but I cannot really answer this question, as I do not have any Sun-Fly ceramics (nor do the local people I play poker with) to compare against stock ABC materials. My own ceramic set used ABC-sourced blanks, and I think they are of excellent quality. Have used them for my charitable fundraising activities for the past 7 years without a problem.

You have to decide by your own what you like. Personally I love Matsui best but that's just me. Get samples and ask Matsui for their colour kit. (they have to colours Standart and ABS. ABS are more colour full)

For premium plastics, there are some for sale both by vendors and privately as well. They are not "custom" but some might be able to be "customized".

@The Chip Exchange (Vendor) has a few lines of Bud Jones chips, such as Intercontinental San Juan, for sale. Check out their President's Day sale thread for pictures and prices.

@liftapint , a long-time member here with one of the highest positive feedback ratings on the site, has some Emerald Bay Matsui chips for sale (from a recent large forum group buy) in Classifieds.

Myself, as a temporary Vendor, I have some Bud Jones S2 chips from the defunct Big Easy Casino casino cruise operation, available in sets.

There may be many other private sales in the Classifieds. In recent memory I know there are more Bud Jones V7 series, etc.

As far as number of chips to get, most people think they need more chips than they probably do. You'll need to define what sort of games you play (cash, tournament, or both), how many people/tables at a time, cash stakes/tournament structure and how many typical rebuys, and total budget.

Thank you for the info. Do you know if the ABC ceramics or the sun fly hybrids are slippery or how slippery they are? I don't mind if they are a little slippery but if they are sliding off when just moving a barrel across the felt that's too slippery. Also would you know how close in quality the ABC chips are compared to the sunfly chips?

You noted sunfly hybrids, which I believe Gene is the guy for.
Is Gene here on the forum site? I'm just not sure, I've been on here on and off for 3 years but haven't followed that closely to names and only recently made a profile.

Get samples first, and figure out what you like and don't like. What anybody else thinks is irrelevant.
On thank you for the suggestion. For samples from sunfly and matsui or abbiati I've heard that shipping alone is upwards of 50 to 60 dollars, is this true?

What is it about Matsui you like compared to other companies chips?

Thsbk you for the information, its greatly appreciated. I'm definitely gonna try and get some of those Matsui chips.
As for quantity I probably wouldn't need much for a game i would start, which would only have around 8 players. For some reason I like a having a lot of chips on the table, i guess in my mind it looks really cool having it all set up.
Again thank you for the info.

Gene is @ABC Gifts and Awards

Not tried Abbiati, but I've owned Matsuis and Hybrids. Matsuis feel and play fantastic, but just too slick for my taste. Hybrids are great on stacking, just don't feel right to me. I'll stick with clay, but all three are fantastic options.

You should be able to find samples in the PCF classifieds.

Personally, I recommend 43mm Sun-Fly hybrids (with 25mm recess) as being one of the better chip buy values available anywhere from anybody.

What price have you paid per chip for those 43mm hybrids?

Is Sun-Fly still in business? I tried to contact them several times and I am getting bounce back e-mails.

ABC Gifts does not do the custom poker plaques either, called them last week.

I wish I ordered from Salvatore, sadly he has passed away. I was trying to order RB011 and RB013 custom chips.

Have you tried sending to this mail? sales1@sunflycasinochips.com

I have 4 Matsui sets and paid yesterday for the 5th. Ah yes, that's why this forum is evil... One of the first post I read was that a guy had over 3k chips and I thought: LOL, who needs that many chips... :wow::ROFL: :ROFLMAO::D
How many chips did you order for your 5th and did you order them by yourself?

Incorrect on the plaques

I think ABC only sells the credit-card sized ceramic plaques He doesn't offer the rounded-edge (four sizes) or oval types, nor does he offer ceramic hybrids.
