I thought I would share this picture, as it was a first to me to see this much money on a $1/$2 table, especially on a cruise ship.

This was about 6 hours into a session where the max buy-in was $200. I ended up cashing for $3k at the end of the night but phone died and I couldn't get a picture. On a side note, I also took 1st in the satellite tournament the got me a seat to their PokerPro Challenge which I sold for $100.

Yeah the rake was 15% capped at $10. Crazy, but I couldn't avoid playing - the first time I saw one of these full on a cruise damn near every day. Past cruises it wouldn't have a single player at it.

It plays so deep because all they have to do to re-buy is swipe their on board credit card. I once cashed for a few thousand as well from a drunk tourist. He kept buying beers for the table and asking if we still wanted to play. I looked him in the eye and said, "I'm not leaving until you do".

The horrible rake is not a problem when people are throwing money around. Looks like there were a couple other players that at least had an idea what they were doing.

I have played on those tables twice in Indiana, since it was work related I only had a few hours to myself to play so it was nice getting more hands per hour, but overall I would take a normal live table with cards and chips.

I haven't been on a cruise in about 9 years, but the poker on it was very soft. Won the tournament they had, was the only real winner at the cash game the one night it got running for a few hours.

I once won a tournament where 4 single tables got down to one player and the 4 winners got to play the captain and senior crew. I think I probably was supposed to win some cash, but all I got was a trophy and a deck of cards.

Personally, when cruising, I like to do things I don't normally do. I can play cards in many basements every week, I cannot see the ocean under the stars and moonlight but once a year.

That's funny, the wife and I cruise for the gambol. She likes it better than Vegas, so we cruise a few times a year.

My first cruise I didn't play due to the horrendous rake. After I got back I was talking to a friend who told me I was crazy not to play. He cleaned up on his cruise and he's not that good of a player. So my next cruise I spent a few hours at the table a couple of nights and cashed out up over a grand. That paid for my wife's shopping.

my biggest complaint about those electronic tables was the speed of play. It was so slow. Here is what happened at least 2 times each betting round.

"Oh, is it my turn?"
"yes it is"
then they had to fumble to look at their cards on the screen, then decide what to do, then find the right button...even for a check.
a bet took even longer.

Most actions are checks. On an electronic table it takes a ton longer to select check, instead of the quick 2 tap with the finger/hand. So even a round where it is check around took at least a minute.
