CPC’s are highly overrated imo. They are
not nearly as durable as Paulsons which no one seems to mention. I can snap them in half with relative ease, which you cannot do with any Paulson I’ve ever used in a casino. Also, CPC’s are prone to have huge chunks chip away from the edges even from the slightest drop on a hard surface. Not so with Paulsons.

I would go web mold Tina’s all day vs CPC.

Works better if you play poker with them

Some of the replies remind me of this

A Plan for the Improvement of English Spelling

by Mark Twain

For example, in Year 1 that useless letter "c" would be dropped to be replased either by "k" or "s", and likewise "x" would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which "c" would be retained would be the "ch" formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform "w" spelling, so that "which" and "one" would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish "y" replasing it with "i" and Iear 4 might fiks the "g/j" anomali wonse and for all.

Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez "c", "y" and "x" -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez -- tu riplais "ch", "sh", and "th" rispektivli.

Fainali, xen, aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud hev a lojikl, kohirnt speling in ius xrewawt xe Ingliy-spiking werld.

We don't mention the fact that we can break it with our hands because that's a weird thing to try and do.

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/cpc-easily-breakable-by-hand.109953/
I totally get that. I purchased a gorgeous stained glass window for my living room and easily put my fist through it. You figure if I paid thousands of dollars for it, I wouldn't be able to. I tried to punch through the bus window in the same way and it didn't work. Such an expensive piece being ruined so easily turns me off to most churches.

How about how easily they chip and break when dropped onto a hard surface from 2-3’? Crickets…
1. Why lead with your weird argument then? Not our fault we're answering the claim of "I can break em if I try!" lol.
2. That hasn't been my experience, but I've been told I'm bad at measuring inches. If you play on hard surfaces, you're right, stick with ceramics. Like I said in your original thread, if you're worried about damage and play with apes, CPCs aren't for you? That's fine. I'm still gonna laugh when you talk about purposefully breaking something you purchased.

You didn't get crickets, you got pages of people discussing durability from people who've purchased and played these chips for years.

You, breaking the chips you bought:

This feels like a troll or a semi-troll.
I've never owned a set of CPCs but I've played on my share. And I've watched people post them here for years in photo layouts and in live action game pictures. So I have to ask you, where are all these broken CPCs? Surely if they're prone to breaking and to having huge chunks chip away from the edges, we'd have seen some pictures. WHERE ARE THE PICTURES???

I have a set of H molds that is 16 years old, no chunks missing and still with sharp edges after a lot of play. Not one broken chip! Away with your silly clams of fragility! They hold no credence here! My chips have been dropped from my table, once a whole rack by a stupid player, but none broke or were injured in any way. And my floor is tile over concrete basement flooring so very hard indeed. Show me proof of your claims, and I’ll show you proof of mine.

You, breaking the chips you bought:
I accidentally dumped an entire 1000 chip tray full of CPC’s onto the floor from 2 feet up. The wooden tray with plastic insert landed on top of hundreds of chips.

The dump broke one chip.

Sadly, I did the same thing on accident a year later with a full 1000 chip tray full of Tina’s. Same style dump. Casualties in that accidental drop - 1 Tina.

I haven’t tried breaking my CPC’s by hand, though. LMAO!!!!!

I’ve dropped plenty of CPC’s on my basement floor while playing and no broken chips yet (knock on wood).

@krafticus runs a 34 plus player game monthly year after year and we have been playing his Speak EC chips the entire time. Now they are on the "best mold" IMO the Circle Square... but even after YEARs of use they have exactly zero flea Bites, the more use they get the better they feel!

Oh... and if he gets angry at poker (which is stupid and I agree) once Ina while a chip flies across the room and smashes into the wall... Wall zero, CPC 2 or 3? Lol

Ask me how I know... I have been in the line of fire (unintentionally I believe).

CPCs are their own breed! As someone who owns cheap China stuff, BCCs, Paulsons and yes TRKs... I absolutely 100% believe CPC has its place in this hobby and personally recommend that all players wanting to give their players a variety of chips, should have atleast one CPC set in the line up.

As far as molds... I also 100% agree they make all the difference!! I am NOT a huge fan of thr A mold, B mold, FDL mold, Hourglass mold... but man oh man a CSQ, DSQ, Scrown, H mold sign me up for a seat!

Hey a fan of those cheap China chips (again I have some too!), like others said... save some cash. But also don't get upset next year when you start accusing all of your friends of putting your chips in a KY JELLY bath when they start a slippin and Sliddin all over your table as the texture wears down. It has happened before... and don't worry we won't be mad when you come back and all of a sudden excited for the next resonably priced chip room sale for some casino used Paulsons! We KNOW
