I’m looking for racks for my 44mm CPC/ASM set. The set was made in 2008, and I’m the second owner. So I believe that would be ASM?

In any event, I purchased a 3D printer to give the 44mm racks a try that @Ken had created and uploaded for us to use (Thanks @Ken for convincing me to order a printer). These will be great for my home games.

However, I want to be able to use an Apache case to transport the set to away games. I bought a 45mm Tina rack and they didn’t come close to fitting. I also got my hands on a 50mm Tina rack. The chips fit nicely in there, but I can only fit 19 chips per row.

Does anyone have a solution? Your help is appreciated.

I've used the 50mm covered racks that @justincarothers offers through his vendor forum for my CPC 44mm chips with zero problems.

They have a little play "side to side" in the racks, but fit just fine otherwise.

Honestly, they are the only covered rack option I have seen and pretty much the only rack option at all for CPC 44mm chips. The widely available 43mm racks don't really fit the chips and for the most part only fit 19 chips to a barrel.

I had found some Abbatti racks that worked with tiny modification to fit a 20 chip barrel (had to sand down a couple tabs in the rack), bit when I went to look for more quite a few years ago, they were unavailable.

Hope this helps, and saves you having to design and print racks for your 44mm CPC chips.

Can you fit 20 per row? I bought two of them from Justin a couple years ago. When I try them, I can only fit 19 chips per row. My barrel is coming in at almost 71mm. Would you be able to measure a barrel of yours?

20 per row... snug but not forced. (The linked thread with photos has 20-chip rows across four racks and two different denominations).

It's a snug fit, and like most CPC (and ASM before) does take removing a chip from a barrel and replacing it from a different barrel, but that's uncommon in my experience.

The ones in the photo are scroll-mold, so maybe that sits different than A-mold 44mm's, but my hope was that this was a reference that this is a viable option for storage for ASM 44mm chips where there really isn't otherwise.

Worst case scenario, you might have to sort or scramble chips before putting them in the rack, but IMO, this is an option that's perfectly functional in a case where there's really nothing else for this size chip.

(P.S. Sorry, I don't have a micrometer short of raiding the shop at the observatory, so I have no easy way to give you an actual measurement on the chips or the racks I have. I see if I can fix that in a while...).
