Counterfeit? Fake? Paulson chips? (1 Viewer)

Yes, I bought these... just for novelty.
I knew they were fake (or are they?) but had to touch / feel them.
They look like a plastic injection molded chip and kinda has sprue marks on the edge but kinda feel like real clay. they seem pretty old because there's a chalky patina on some of them. They are slightly thinner than Paulsons. The hat looks like a paulson hat, but the cane is slightly different.
The edges on some are slightly chipped and seem to be consistent with clay chips. When shuffled they sound more like CPC chips but are softer for sure.
They came in a case, but I don't think it's original to the chips. A booklet matching the case was included. on it was written "GC, Inc.". Couldn't find any info on this. There are no other markings.
Does anyone have any information or history on these?
I've seen a few other examples in various threads here.
If anyone can shed light on these, I would appreciate it.

Yes, That's the one.

As someone noted in the other thread, I've never seen the fake Paulsons with actual top hat & cane (usually just the top hat). They look in pretty beat up or badly stored condition.

No, and I didn't pay too much for them. Bought them for novelty sake.

Yeah these were sold back like 30+ years ago as high-end poker chips. These pre-dated the ABS plastic chips during the poker boom. I think most of us playing poker used the cheap plastic interlocking chips and then my friend got a set for his birthday so we started using these in our weekly game. I think they were sold in game stores. Maybe late 80s early 90s? I remember them being cool to the touch and felt kind of "clay-like" but seemed softer then the chips we have now.

Dammit, you're right. I stand corrected.

The injection mold "dimple" in the hat threw me off here as the MD-75's show the same thing.

The injection mold dimple is identical to what I have. Does anyone know when the MD-75's were made?
