This was from the good ol' days when Paulson was still catering to the home market, and before they were taken over by GPI and ditched the TH&C molds for the PAULSON CHIPS mold.
They did all kinds of special chipsets back then: Old West, Presidents, Sports, Cars, Zodiacs, Le Cove's, Scandia, Isthmus, etc., etc., etc.
Then came GPI, and the home market chips were discontinued. Then slowly booted up again with the Paulson Classics, the new line of Isthmus chips, National Poker Series, and the hotstamped Grand Cardroom on the PAULSON CHIPS mold. Most of these were created by Apache Poker Chips I believe. Then a guy over at Chiptalk (forgot his name) designed the Pharaoh's which were also made with the Paulson Chips mold. After that the World Top Hat & Cane chips came out with the Suits mold, and the Grand Cardroom and Pharaoh's were made on those molds as well. Sidepot.com then created the Le Paulson Noir chips on a custom pineapple/scroll mold, and Apache Poker Chips had new edgespot combinations made for hot stamped chips (notably the new Grand Cardroom and Avalon chips), also allowing for custom hotstamps for a while (like the PNY and PCA quarters).
And then everything was shut down for the public, and GPI decided to only create chips for casino's. That's where we're at now, and it's a sad thing. But there's always a chance that they'll start producing for the home market again some time in the future, but I think there would have to be a second poker boom for that to happen. (Or new management).
