Should I be worried that I don't have a shipping notice for 1000 regular denom chip set from initial buy? Or did maybe Apache just not send out all shipping notices ...
Maybe....based on his earlier post they have all gone out. I'd wait a few days. Wait the appropriate amount of time based on the shipping you chose and then see. But anything is possible. I didn't get a notice to myself as I dropshipped through Chaos. So I couldn't comment as to who actually generates the notice. Whether it's Josh or the couriers..fingers crossed for ya.

Yeah I'm trying to be patient but all the pics are teasing me but by all means keep them coming.

I oiled mine and they don't feel oily. You don't use much and they do seem to absorb a little. I noticed some parts of the hundreds dried back to the lighter colour after sitting for a couple days. Absorption?

Honestly... if you dig through the threads, and the (dozens) of posts on CT about this topic, you're going to find a pretty even split on this debate. I've stated my opinion, so I'm not going to argue it further. But for every person who says, "I love oiling - my chips absorb it and they look great!" you'll find an equal post stating, "the main ingredient in these chips is plastic, I've never seen them absorb oil, and I see not point in doing it beyond aesthetics."

So, here's what it comes down to - if you like doing it, and like the look and feel of the chips after oiling them... friggin do it!!!

w00t w00t!

Hi.

When I started ordering those chips ( quite a long time ago June ) I was said it would be ok to be send in November.
I come back here now in order to get some news about it. It is ready ?

Mail sent to Josh. ( Shipping Method: Large International (More Than 155 Chips - No Poker Cases Will Be Shipped International) Takes 2 - 3 Weeks For Delivery. )

I suppose it is because it takes time.

FWIW I began labeling last night. These are nice chips.

Wipe/wash with water before applying labels. I found that when applying the labels, if you don't quite get it lined up with the "inlay" rim, you can use both thumbs to "pull" it a little into position. No need for razor blades and prying the whole label up. Once I figure this out, I really picked up speed.

How long should I expect this label adhesive to last. They are likely getting stored in an unheated garage, and I could see over time one or two peeling off. Super glue? Quite honestly I was expecting paper stickers, but these labels are really heavy duty.

Are you using Majestic labels or custom labels?

Did anyone notice the edge bevel seems to be back to the CPS severity? Not complaining... just realizing chip edges are not as flat as the Dunes/Desert Palms/Pharoahs china clays.

Did the factory ignore that change? I thought it was discussed along the way...

Did you mean to say aren't as flat as the Dunes/Desert Palms/Pharaohs? I don't have any of these Majestics, but I noticed it in some of the pictures (really hard to tell accurately actually). The Pharaohs have basically no bevel at all.

I find that of the chips i've looked at the bevel is very inconsistent. On some chips one side is CPS bad and the other is almost none at all. Some chips are barely there on both sides, and a few but not many were bad on both sides.

The other thing i noticed is that these chips are about 40mm wide and much thinner than the cps chips.

I didn't notice the thickness difference. The bevel varies slightly but I didn't notice any to be near the CPS extreme.

Pics of stacks next to one another?

Stacks of 20, and of 40. If you zoom in, you can see significant beveling on the CPS chips, some, but less pronounced on the Majestics. Majestics fit with a little slop in a Chipco rack, and 21 in a "regular" rack.

@Gear Have you made any labels for these yet? The uber-thinness has me concerned about laminated labels producing spinners.

I have not, I'm still waiting for my chips to arrive. (checks tracking info - nope, not yet)

The thinness of the chip isn't the critical factor, though, but rather the depth of the inlay area once the label is removed (or by default, for blanks.)

PZ, what are you considering a "regular" rack? Like Brybelly?

I got a FedEx Shipping notice for two 47 pound boxes... I hope they're full of chips... but thought josh was using usps.

Maff says 47 lb = 21.3 kg = about 2400 chips, if they're 9 g apiece.

Boxes of 100, 4 wide x 3 long x 2 deep?

Got mine today. Very impressed! What measurements still need to be done?

I want to say Brybelly, but honestly I bought them a long time ago, before I knew about CT/PCF. A time when I truly believed I was getting the best custom chips possible, because they were "casino weight".

I can tell you my "regular" racks hold 20 dice chips with no slop, and a barrel of CPCs with just a little play.

Going back to the oil vs no oil debate...

In the above pic, the colors are the same (only the spot patterns are different). With only a Jacuzzi bath and 3 or 4 tournaments on them (and they're 25s, so they are colored off 2 hours into the event) you can see how much the colors come to life, even without oil. I'm not saying more oil wont bring them along further, but I am slowly fading back into the no-oil camp. At this point it's more like a work to reward ratio (a lot of work for little improvement).

So I got to play with the majestic last night, we had about a 7 hour cash game with them. At the end you could see how much oil they absorbed from our hands.

The unused chips still had that chalky white to them. The used chips looked much better.

Ugh all your guys' comments are making me really mad at USPS. My packages typically get to me from Apache is 2-3 days and it's been over 5. Supposedly my Majestics are "delayed, in transit" even though they supposedly let the USPS facility less than 45 minutes from my house over 32 hours ago...........

Welcome to the club. I'm in the same boat waiting for a different chips that stop updating with USPS four days ago. Hopefully it's just busy this time of year and things get back on track soon. :whistling:
