Hey all, I haven't been on PCF in a long while, went a little crazy with poker and chips over the past several years and needed some distance.

Quick story: recently I've been selling stuff that I've had for years but that I just don't use anymore, and have been giving the money to several friends and family who need money during this crisis. I've got a couple listings on eBay and one or two other places, and so far things have gone well.

The reason I say all this is because I threw up these Cle HS WSOP chips late last night on eBay, and this morning woke up to a nasty message from a PCFer. Honestly I felt like it would be more of a slap in the face to PCF to come back just to list items in the classifieds. You guys are an awesome community with a lot of great people, which I really haven't been active in in years. I'm not trying to make enemies, Lord knows right now the last thing we need is ignorant people sending stupid messages telling each other to remove themselves from this planet...

So if I broke a rule of some sort by throwing these up there, I apologize. My intention was never to upset anyone. Finally on with the sale:

Up for sale are Horseshoe Cleveland Casino World Series of Poker tournament chips. Many of these chips are a little dirty and have a couple flea bites, but overall the edges are sharp and the chips have plenty of life in them! (See pics!) Please note that these are .36mm diameter chips, which means they are a bit smaller than standard poker chips (which usually measure .39mm).

Included are enough chips for a one table, nine person tournament with $10,000 starting stacks.

The chips included are:

88x $25
88x $100
22x $500
79x $1,000

($5k and $25k chips are in the pictures solely for reference, but not included in this lot. They will be sold separately eventually.)

Breakdown per player is as follows:

Five of the nine players will receive:

8x $25
8x $100
2x $500
8x $1,000

The other four of the nine will receive:

12x $25
12x $100
3x $500
7x $1,000

11 extra $1,000 chips are included to color up the $25 and $100 chips and blinds increase.

I'm selling five sets of these, and am willing to give a discount depending on quantity bought.

Based on recent prices, free shipping, and fees, I listed each set for $649 on eBay, with the "make an offer" to reject anything under $400 to at least be a conversation starter.

I'd like to see $500 for these after all fees, but I've been so out of touch that I'm happy to entertain any offer, just please support your offer if it's very low.

And better yet, if you have a charity or loved ones you'd rather donate the money to, do it. I'll send you the chips, you give the money to do some good. The guy who messaged me on eBay talked about me being greedy and squeezing every penny out of my sale...I'd like him to see that I'm putting my money where my mouth is. This isn't about me...other people need this way more than I do.

No racks will be included. Chips will be well packed and protected for shipping. I'm happy to ship out of the country, but please understand buyer is responsible for any and all additional fees that may be encountered. I've experienced issues several times regarding taxes and such when shipping outside the US. I've always been able to work with buyers through any issues that arise, but just know that sometimes things don't go as smoothly or as quickly as planned. Should there be issues, I will be responsive and do my best to remedy the situation (within reason).

Lastly, please DO NOT message me asking for samples, sample sets, individual chips, etc. At this time, I'm only selling these as a 1 table tournament set. Don't be surprised if I don't respond to a message that ignores this request.

THANK YOU!!

Very cool! Not sure what all the hullabaloo was about, but welcome back to the site!

For pricing, I think you're pretty solid! There's not a ton of these that come up for sale in recent times, so if someone wants a small set, this would be perfect.

You had these at about $1.10 recently, but it was a much bigger breakdown.

These went recently around the $2 mark, but French chippers normally charge premium prices for all chips, and they sold as a split.

So you're right in there somewhere! Best of luck, hopefully some chippers interested get you some cash and possibly get some good monies into charities and places that can help.

As a sidenote, if you have any custom samples from back during your chipping days, I'd be more than interested!

My face is killing me from this violent assault on my personal dignity. I’m kidding. I don’t know you and it’s nice to meet you. As long as you used/loved these poker chips rather than put them in a closet to “appreciate in value” like an “investor” or whatever you guys tell yourselves to sleep at night, we’re cool.

Before my time as well. Go look at his history, this man has had some absolutely crazy epic sets. Nuts.

Hahaha...believe me guys, I never got into poker chips to make money lol...

I've loved poker my entire life and LOVE the couple sets I use regularly. But I've got so many extras still (UB sets, Aztars, etc) that literally I haven't used since I got my Cle HS sets....and being from Cleveland, I think these will honestly be the last sets I ever use. They're not the prettiest, but they're nostalgic and mean a great deal to me. I honestly hate the fact that I still have so many other chips sitting on shelves. I've sent out chips before with no expectation to get money for them. I just want them used.

I also just have to say that there is a need for people to be watchdogs. I appreciate keeping prices and the community in line. I just ask that we do so a little more informed. Ok. Done with my soapbox moment. Let's move on from all this and hopefully people can put some chips to good use! :)

Thanks all!

Thanks for adding those links! I got mine a couple years ago and paid WAY more than 1.10 per chip...but I also paid several bucks per chip for my 25/100 UB chips like 5 years ago, so overpaying is something I'm good at haha :)

Oh yeah I would think that was bottom of the barrel. Big set, bad timing on the site.

Lol I also didn’t know youre history, just a dude labeled “pair” I hadn’t seen before and was trying to help, forgive me  :ROFLMAO:

Sorry you got an idiot message. A simple "hey, you could sell these on PCF without the eBay fees" would be more than sufficient.
You've been here; so you know that flipping is a sensitive subject. And you should also know that anybody who gets their panties in a knot over a set that sold 3 years ago is the kind of crazy that's best ignored.
Good luck with it!

I know I should just brush it off, but because it's such a sensitive topic, I take it to heart...for what it's worth, I truly believe he's trying to do what's best for the community. I can understand how it looks. He seems like a very active, respected member of this site and is just looking out for the members :)

UB SETS??

HAHAHA...I have like 1300 25s and 1200 100s...nothing super exciting...they were actually my first "real" chips I ever bought...I used them with Paulson Pharoes or whatever to make a 100 person tournament set...paid $3 per chip for 'em on eBay....those were the days before I realized there was a community dedicated to poker chips...who knew there were more degens like me in the world? :)
