Why would casinos pick a bud jones chip over a Paulson chip, IMO the only advantage comparing clays vs injection molded is the durability. Plastics just last longer than clays in a casino environment.
If you look at GPI’s website, comparing they’re 3 chip lines (B&G, BJ, PAULSON)
You will see that B&G have the most security options for they’re chips, even a see-trough insert embedded in the mold.
Paulson has actually more security options than Bud Jones, so I’m really confused why casinos would pick a slippery chip instead of a chip that will satisfy the employees while handling them and the customers too. Because the fact of the matter is, clays just handle way easier than those slippery bud jones, so even for dealers it’s a big advantage.

Durability, quality control, and manufacturing efficiency are good reasons why a casino may choose a Bud Jones chip. There is no reason a Bud Jones chip can't have a similar variety of security measures as a B&G chip, it's just how they choose to vary their different lines.

Yes, even high end plastic chips (the PIMPs of B&G, Abbiati, Matsui, and Bud Jones) are demonstrably more slippery than compression clay. But to the point of being "unplayable"? That dealers and customers fine "unsatisfying" to handle? Completely overblown, and untrue. The only way to compare is to spend some time dealing various games with the various types of chips. If you're dealing at a roulette table, you will soon learn to appreciate that a little less friction and a little less mass will help you gather, stack, and push those payout chips a lot faster, and less tiring on your hands. This is probably the number one reason that BJR4s are the most popular type of chip on roulette tables in all the major casinos. And customers are not lost on the esthetics, too. Most gamblers are casual gamblers, and they will gravitate toward a nice looking, shiny, and uniform pile of high end plastic chips than a bunch of flea bitten clays full of hooker juice.
