Chips - Your first love that hooked you into PCF.. Go.. (1 Viewer)

I'm here to learn and research what my first real set is going to be. I'm a sucker for the WSOP replica sets.

I still have my first set of chips, which is so cheap I'm not even gonna post a photo :). Got them 16 years ago when I started playing but they havnt seen a ton of use. This place is great! For now I'm living vicariously through everyone in this thread.

my favorite's are the Stallion Springs and Royal flush sets from California. When I find

a color printer I'll post a few pictures. They show a nice royal flush & Stallion.l
The Stallion Springs and Royal Flush TRK small crown chips are killers - IMHO …..

First chips I ever bought off of PCF! @Jeevansluck was my first interaction on here.

Stallion Springs are by far one of my favorites. I've only ever seen singles, I have seen a complete set of singles. I adore chips with horses on them, as well as hot stamps. They are just gorgeous chips. I hope to one day secure a single of each denomination

I noticed Stallion Springs mentioned a few times, anyone have photos? I did a quick search on PCF and didn't find any photos, unless I missed it..

My first arrivals after I found PCF, were CPC Rounders Stock design, 700 pieces.

I've still got it, and they'd never be sold, even if I give up chipping, I'll keep these forever. It's 1040 pieces nowadays, with custom $25K, and still as beautiful as the day they arrived. . .

Bear = Russia
Bear = California
Cow = ??? Wisconsin???

Lol, not sure who made these chips but I put it in a capper and I absolutely love it, makes me laugh each time I see it!

I like your 'Cow' chip', pretty clever whoever did the design & see why you like it. I also called the Bear California

and believe when I talked to Dennis, the owner of TRK, I recall him saying it was a California, but who remember ?

I was right there with you Pat. We bought and sold a ton of the GV’s and then I found what changed my whole collection to Nevada chips.

which turned into a much larger set. which now includes two racks of fracs.

then I became obsessed with these

and now I am not sure of everything I have although most of it can be seen in my gallery.
Wtf is wrong with all of us? I mean. Seriously. Hahahahaha

Me and two other people started "Friday night poker" in his garage. Ended up being fun, but we got tired of the cold garage so we moved it to a diff guys living room. Then into Mondays because of MNF. Once it moved to my house after 3 years because of a new GF, I wanted special chips since they would be used weekly. Made some horrid ceramic customs. Horrid. Then I wanted a rounders set, found ASM, and then found CT. Then made these my Bulldog Rounders.

Still got them and they got 600-700 games on them. So silky.

I was hooked long before PCF was born. My first non-plastic chips were Venerati ceramics (a review was my very first CT post), and my first two clay chip loves were TRK Deadwoods and Casino Aztar secondaries. But PCA secondaries are what sent me spiraling down the deep rabbit hole...

They are on eBay.

Freaking beautiful works of Art!!
One of my favorites and was able to go to the town of Stallion Springs and see the Lodge where they were used and l talked to several old timers that told me stories about the games. One I will share is the offered a package deal that included a week end at the lodge, golf both days & of course a seat in the card room. One of our members went there several timesw

Came for the Dunes China Clay's, stayed for the Paulsons! I still really like the CCs despite the general sentiment towards them here, but I wasn't completely hooked until I saw/handled my first leaded THCs though, being Claim Stake $5s.

I'll be moving on to CPCs once if I finish up my current project/set.
Hell, I'd be pretty happy with that set of Dunes chips!
How many are in that set?
