Love Jim and the chiproom. In no way am I affiliated with him, just curious to know people’s thoughts on pricing. No doubt are Jim’s prices great, especially on used chips. My question is how much more would you pay for used casino chips already cleaned??

Definitely 10 cents plus if the chips are clean. It's worth it if you don't have an ultrasonic and don't want to clean chips by hand.

I'd rather compression oil 1000 chips in one go than hand clean 100 chips.

I hand cleaned a whole 600 chip set of HS Cincy chips for my first Paulson set and barely made my money back when I sold them. Never again. I'll pay extra for clean and minty chips.

Cleaning and oiling used chips is part of the right of passage for any chip joining my chip family.

I've been known to clean chips that others have already cleaned, I just consider their clean a pre-cleaning clean.

I think I have a problem... you guys also name each of your chips, right? RIGHT!?!

Nobody cleaning anything for .3

More like 1.03+ And even then. Called payroll=Nightmare. I have a few racks I hate it. Pinche’ 55 gallon Barrels??? Oh HELL NO0000000. Lol It’s the least we can do help. He’s a living legend.

You forgot a 0.....0.03.

Not trolling, seriously just asking. Was wondering if the effort to clean so many chips would be worthwhile for a seller is all and how much more that would be. Do you think $.05 increments would be better pool? Just thinking the chips at $.59 for $1s, $.10 is a good amount

I like my chips dirty.
I bet you do.....

No I meant nobody cleaning chips for 3x his max bid. If .10 bring them workers over to my place. I got nothing but love and dimes for everyone!
I charge 17 cents a chip if they are with an order, and 20 cents for outside orders. And most around here do there own. Only a few ship out for cleaning.

Just saying. If you are selling 100,000 dirty chips and can charge $.15 more a chip you have $15,000.

I get what your saying here but he seems to have a pretty good grasp of what he needs to do to run his own business??

Seems like this post is trying to take a different angle?

I have hand cleaned 1000 chips before and understand the pride.
Sorry if this seen as trolling. Seriously not trying to do that. Not trying to tell Jim to clean them either. Just curious if the effort is worthwhile. It seems there are two camps: People who would not pay at all and people who would gladly pay.
Amongst those that would pay, curious as to how much?
In no way am I trying to tell Jim how to do business or being critical of chiproom. Just curious. Is there a mega ultrasonic option out there for mass quantities of chips? or at what point would it be worthwhile? Probably not worth the extra time to prepare them I imagine.

I'll tell you from experience, it's not worth the money you'd made, unless you had an industrial setup that costs more then the 15k

I've cleaned thousands by hand and by ultrasonic. There is definitely a value added to cleaning chips. But cleaning chips is a chore, depending on the level of grime.

- Would I pay $15 to $20 a rack more for clean chips vs very casino dirty chips -- yes. It's probably worth it.
- Would I ever try to market a service for $15 to $20 a rack to clean lots of chips -- no. Not a proposition I'd ever want to take on to make money or spend time.
- [EDIT - 3rd thought. Would I be glad to pay $15 to $20 a rack less for medium-to-low-level-grime dirty casino chips that I am planning to keep and that would clean up nicely in an ultrasonic. Absolutely.]

The Horseshoe Southern Indiana chips should clean up nicely in an ultrasonic, like the Horseshoe Cleveland chips did for me.

Some really old & extremely dirty chips take quite a while to clean, and many of those aren't even fully clean after a several long sessions in the ultrasonic. Some old chips that have decades of built up dirt need a good scrubbing with a brush and elbow grease to get them completely clean.

I agree with @grantc54. Cleaning casino used chips kinda sucks, but is part of the journey.
When you see the difference right in front of you, I think you appreciate them more.

This would not be the answer I would give halfway through cleaning 1500 Horseshoes.
Just thinking about what was at the bottom of that dark brew in the Ultrasonic. :vomit:

PS: I also rather know they were cleaned so as not to damage the chips., etc.., because OCD.

I feel we are very lucky Jim offers his chips at the prices he does. This thread is like telling Jim “go ahead and raise your prices”. Don’t rock the boat.
