Maybe add tooltips or ℹ️ buttons to help explain some of the features/options.
Yes, that's definitely on the to-do list. Perhaps I should make it a priority, though :)

amazing stuff! Can't wait to see all the features you add later as well

Great tool! Tinkered just a bit and it's not too intuitive at first, but that's OK. Very good to see a tool like this out in the wild. I look forward to playing with it more :)

Tremendous tool! Well done!

I spent less than 30 minutes with this and was able to recreate the triangle pattern edge spots that took me a few days to create in Illustrator. I may end up using this to submit my order vs my own illustrator files since these should be 100% lined up on the chip edge. I worry mine may be off here and there on some of the rotated spots.

Again, great job!

This could be a beneficial tool for those that aren’t fully equipped with Illustrator or something like that, but I found myself having a hard time figuring this out.

Personally I found myself being able to do almost anything in illustrator.

I’ll keep an eye open on what others can do though. Nothing negative against this. Still love seeing new things coming up in the community

I was the exact opposite. Took me a few minutes and then it all made sense!

I’ll keep giving it another go though. Honestly I tried it for 15-20 minutes the first time.

I’m just so used to using illustrator and have been using it for years now. That’s why I’m able to do so much in it now.

Great tool - very well done!!
I tried out and it‘s a lot of fun to play with distortion etc… : )

Very cool resource! Is the image upload for the inlay also not working correctly for anyone else? When I select image upload the webpage goes completely white and I have to delete my cookies in order to access the studio again.

Thanks for the feedback, @Okku. Which parts of it did you find confusing? The color palettes? The idea of spot groups? Something else? I'd love to add some more tool tips / tutorial / instructions or something else to make it easier to understand but I'm not totally sure where people are getting tripped up.

@SwissChip I love that I'm not even certain which spot shape you used on this chip :)

@GR_ Sorry to hear about your issue! If you want to send me the image in a DM that you were uploading I can take a look and try to reproduce the error in my development environment. I'm also curious what the file type and dimensions were?

I call out design rights on this flame/flower pattern!
Hahaa - just kidding…

Nice tool man - well designed!!
Thanks for doing this.
It will bring a LOT new designs.
Hope people go crazy.

It would be perfect to be able adjusting the edges too (distortion)
A few base inlay designs and some fonts to choose from.
Cheers!

So glad you like it! Yes all those things are on the short list feature improvements. First up of those will probably distortion adjust on the rolling edge.

QuietMaple updated Chipmatic Studio (a poker chip design tool) with a new update entry:

"Gallery" image download, clone chip, about page, and more

I've made a couple small updates since the initial release. Check them out:
  • Features:
    • Added a "Gallery Image" download which will show all stacks in the set lined up next to each other
    • Added a "Clone Chip" Button
    • Added an About page with some documentation about how to use the toll and disclaimers about colors.
    • Added ability to reset distortion sliders to their default values (either by clicking...

Great work. Going to be impatient here when and what other molds are you adding? Also can we make it so the web mold come up a little more?
Thank you!
Agreed that the mold isn't popping enough right now. I'm rendering the chips in a 3d graphics library, and there is a bit of a dance between lighting the chips in a way that will produce accurate colors but also allowing for enough contrast for the mold to not be washed out. I've also been experimenting with scaling the "intensity" of the mold itself. See the attached images. They show the scale ranging from 1 to 5. Which looks most realistic to your eye?

As for the next mold, no particular timeline in mind right now. I'll probably improve some usability things first. But when I do swing back to it, is there a particular mold you want to see next?

Here are the images: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1JeQggnmmRBmOCx_uMhhfqcSgJNK6dVYr?usp=sharing
(I'm not just uploading to forum because they get compressed too much to give an accurate picture)

I like 3… strong enough to be visible through any colored edge spots that may be placed over it but subtle enough that it doesn’t dominate.

For the molds I was thinking mainly the public Tina molds. Selfishly the Plain / No mold Hybrid because I have made a lot of them.

That one would actually be much easier to add than the other ones. Is the surface smooth, or does it have the micro bumps that web mold has as well? Also, is the inlay recess the same size as web mold?

Alright, I've been tweaking the lighting and the prominence of the mold, and I think it's in a better spot now. I haven't deployed it yet, but attached is a preview of the change. (Hopefully the images won't be compressed too much when I uploads them to the forum. If they are, I'll share another google drive link)

EDIT: I've deployed the change to chipmaticstudio.com

Best to throw up some pictures rather than I try and describe it
