Ok, so I'm looking for a cash set and have sourced a bunch of samples. Pic of my three favorites is below. Wondering if (a) there are other similar priced options that folks have had good experiences with that I am not considering and (b) whether there have been any negative experiences with the three that I like that I should be aware of. Couple of points (1) I did look at the Majestics but I like the variable edging of the Royals better and (b) likely won't get any $100 chips but included them in the pic anyways. Thanks in advance for any/all inputs.

Ok I am gonna try to help here but you might not like it.

Your first option is China Clay. Your other two options are BRPRO ceramics. If you post a poll asking which is better, that poll will probably end in a dead heat. Only one person can tell you what is the best option, and that person is YOU. I will tell you ceramics are way better, and the next person here will tell you china clays hands down. There is no answer to this question. Just take your time and figure out what you like. Do what is best for you. When all is said and done, it is your money you are spending here so get what you like.

If ordering Tiki Kings or DDLM ceramics have you considered a custom design? Depending of quantity ordered the prices is not that much different and then you have a totally custom designed chip.

As for the stock ceramics the pro there is that if you ever wish to add-on the chips will be the same. With the China clay royals at the top you should order your total chip amount at once due to quality control changes between production runs that could result in variances in colour, thickness and material composition/texture. Of your three options I would choose Tiki Kings with DDLM as #2.

I had the Royals, they stink...literally. I couldn't stand the smell, others aren't bothered by it. Besides the smell, they are a great budget choice.

Another thing to maybe consider is that you can find ceramics in actual casinos...china clay, not so much. ;)

thanks for the honest feedback - very helpful to me.

I had not considered a custom design. I did receive a PM from broken arrow and am looking at his latest group buy. Open to other options with similar quality to those that are in the OP. I just didn’t like some of the lower cost options as their colors were not as vibrant and the manufacturing process/quality control wasnt as good.

Really appreciate the feedback and ideas from everyone. I know I need a set but it’s tough to navigate all of the choices that are out there.

@triton
Check out these chips. He did have close to a 1000 of these I thought.
Thanks — a nice set but doesnt have all of the denominations I am looking for

Lol I hadn’t noticed but after reading this I checked again and yes they do indeed have a mildew-type odor. Doesn’t bother me that much as the chips have to get really close to my nose for me to notice, but it is there.

Some have mentioned custom design, but a neet thing about brpro is that you can change denoms for a small premium. For example, the pink, blue and yellow DDLM go very well together so having them as 25c, $1 and $5 would be an awesome cali colored cash set! Then either purple or black for $20 or $25 would be stellar!

China clays like the royals aren't always the same thickness. For example, the red might be thicker than the white, meaning the stack heights could be off.

Ceramics have a clanky sound. The 43mm are a but less clanky than the 39, but cost more.

I’m a novice when it comes to chipping but I have several ceramic sets, a few Paulson sets, an ASM and a CPC. I get the most compliments on the DDLM (I have Tiki Kings too). None of my friends care too much about the chips. I just got some, BTP card molds and am waiting on BTP no molds, and mirage no molds. I’d check out https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/no-mold-group-buy-july-2023-customs-welcome.106442/

(@justincarothers) too if you haven’t already. Cheaper and, imo, just as nice as any other ceramic chips with lots of options.
