For a 300 piece poker set for 6-8 people at .25/.25 blind or sometimes 1/2 what would be the best split?

I'm doin some math and 300 for 8 people just doesn't seem optimal to me. If you can go to 400 or 500 that would be much more comfortable. I'm thinking a $30 buy in here. 500 gets you some rebuys and lots of leway. 400 works well enough. You probably want extra 1s.

500 chips
.25 x 200
1 x 250
5 x 50

400 chips
.25 x 175
1 x 200
5 x 25

Starting stack
.25 x 20 = $5
1 x 20 = $20
5 x 1 = $5
Add 5's to increase buy in price.

Absolute austerity stack might be 350 chips. $20 buy in with no wiggle room.

You’re going to have a hard time spreading even a small game with 300 chips. I suppose it can be done, but it’s far less than ideal. And no way you can do .25/.50 and 1/2 with 300 chips.

25¢ x 60
$1 x 140
$5 x 100

Let $20 bills play, if necessary.

But you’re not also spreading 1/2 with that.



This below is kind of the go-to breakdown.

25¢ x 100
$1 x 200
$5 x 200
$25 X 80
$100 X 20

That is perfect for .25/.50, and should suffice for a reasonable 1/2. Total bank of $5000+.
