I have a folding Chanman table with the gray suited speed cloth and 10 cup holders available for sale. If you've never played on one of these before, they are incredibly well built, sturdy, heavy tables made from 3/4" plywood. Mine has the added rails underneath for support. The felt like great, no stains. There's a small nick in the rail vinyl on the side underneath the table that was there when I got it, probably from shipping. Tony said I could put some vinyl epoxy on it if I wanted to, but I never did since you can't really see it and it's so small (I can post pics of it later). It was used for poker nights for a few months at my previous place, but with a newborn on the way, I don't see myself being able to host again anytime soon. So I'm passing this gem along to someone else who can use it. You'll have to pick it up though, I'm in San Jose, CA. I'll try to find some better pics. Right now it's being stored.

I don't recall how much I paid for it, so I will have to post the asking price later once I find out. But it will be less than what I paid for it, obviously.

I also have 13 red Gasser chairs that I'll be selling as well. I'll post those after I can get some pics of them.

Say you buy a refrigerator for $900 and they charge $400 to deliver and install? Is the refrigerator worth $1300 for someone to come pick it up and install it themselves?

I am not sure Travis really thought it through (maybe he did), but he's essentially saying the table is $521, and Ill only charge you $80 shipping since you'll be picking it up yourself.
Bad analogy. Installation costs are wholly urrrevent.
But delivery costs? Yes. If that refrigerator is only available directly from the manufacturer and the shipping costs are a fixed part of that, then yes, that’s part of what it’s worth.

Listen, ultimately this is all up for negotiation between Travis and his buyer. But the fact is that you cannot get a Chanman table from Tony without paying significant shipping costs. So yeah, I’d say that’s part of what it’s worth. If you don’t like it, you can build your own, or order some piece of crap from amazon with free shipping, or try to negotiate a better price.

For anyone that would want to buy a Chanman table outside of where he is located shipping has to be added to the cost, thus becoming part of the cost.

We don’t worry too much about shipping cost of chips since that cost is such a small % of the total cost, but when shipping to or from international it becomes a major factor.

So to think the table is over priced because of the shipping cost is incorporated into it is not right. Anyone local to Travis is getting the table cheaper than if they bought a new one.

You guys are tapped. The value of the table is $521, which is the price set by the person who made the table. The cost for shipping is $200 from the manufacturer. The value of that shipping cost will vary depending on where you are located and how badly you want a Chan man table.

If you are located close to RainmanTrail, then sure, you might justify paying an extra $80, because $80 is better than $200. If you lived next door to Tony, then paying $521 is better than $600. Regardless of shipping cost, the value of the table remains the same...unless you want to consider new vs. used.

My price is firm. $600 is a great deal. If you can get a Chanman table for less, then I say congrats to you for an even better find!

And fwiw, I don’t think you should sell for the reasons you are saying, you might not host for a little while, but life will normalize and then you’ll get back in the game...at least until #2

I have another table (BBO) and another set of chairs just in case :)

You guys are hilarious. You'll argue about anything lol.

No we won't.

If you were to build a Chanman-clone table yourself, I promise you that you are looking at at least $300-$350 in materials, probably more. So let me ask you, is Tony's workmanship (and your time) worth $250-$300? I've never played on a Chanman, but based on the reviews of trusted members here, I'd answer YES without hesitation.

Not sure why you are crapping all over Rainman's sale thread. He said local pickup, posted the price. As a local, if I had the money, I'm on it. If someone wanted to try and get him to ship it, they can negotiate with him on that.

Yeah, Im not sure either. Someone else posed a question about whether shipping costs increase the value of the object that was shipped. I responded to that. My argument, is not judgmental of Rainman's price.

If the 3rd time wasn’t green, then squid man, squid.

Goodman defines grue relative to an arbitrary but fixed time t as follows:
An object is grue if and only if it is observed before t and is green, or else is not so observed and is blue. An object is bleen if and only if it is observed before t and is blue, or else is not so observed and is green.

That’s just like, your opinion man.
