Hi everyone,

I am urgently selling a Triton poker table that I purchased new earlier this month. It is in excellent condition and has only been used for two games.
I’m selling the table due to housing restrictions. During a room inspection, my residential director informed me that I’m not permitted to keep it in my studio, as I live in law school–owned housing. The table was originally transported from New Jersey in a minivan with one additional person, so a similar transport should be sufficient.
Pickup is located in the Brooklyn Heights area.

For the price I listed, the following will be included with the table:
  • 2 sealed decks of Triton Plastic Poker Playing Cards (MSRP $25)
  • 2 Triton Folding Chairs (MSRP $330)
  • New Red Poker Mat (MSRP $170)
  • The cover for the table
Price: $1100 $1000!!
Location: Brooklyn Heights/Downtown Brooklyn (Pickup Only).
Payments Accepted: Cash preferred; willing to accept other methods listed here.

How long do you have in your semester? Was there a handbook or something that said no gambling equipment?

If you are moving off-res next year anyway, might be worth it just to keep it and have them fight to evict you.

Wow sorry to hear about that. I’ve passed this along to some of my NYC home game networks. If we had any more space in my place I’d take it. Best of luck.

The housing agreement states that we're not allowed to bring any furniture.
Unfortunately, I don't think I should move out for the remaining few semesters I'm here. I'm paying nearly 3k a month, and that is still below the market price in this neighborhood. Can't complain too much either because of the proximity to the school.

You're a future lawyer lol I'm sure there's some way you can get out of it. What are the consequences to not following the no furniture rule?

Thank you! I appreciate it. Hope I can sell it within the next two weeks, or else I'll have to get a storage unit

Haha, and their license is written by attorneys. Don't think I have much leverage here.
Any failure on my part to comply with the terms of this license gives the school the right to terminate the license upon 10 days’ written notice.
And...if I fail to comply, they can immediately take possession of the apartment and place all my belongings at my expense.

What a shame. A folded table qualifies as 'furniture'?
Did they tell you to get rid of all the folding chairs, food tray, and TV stand?
Back of the closet it and require appointments for inspection.;)

No, but they did take away my portable heater and candles.

Says they live in law-school housing...

First two replies say: Break da rules!
 :ROFLMAO:

GLWS!
Isn’t law school all about making the laws work for you? Real life opportunity to gain skills. 🤣
