Hey Canadian PCF'ers

I am from Manitoba in Canada and it seems we are the only province that does not have cash games available in ANY CASINO or card room here in the province. This is making some of my friends go and play these underground games.

Is there anyone here that is knowledgeable in Manitoba regulations or Canadian law that can explain home game rakes to me? Are they illegal? Can you get 'in trouble' for running home games that are "raked" to pay for the booze + food for your guys?

I am in no way trying to make a profit by hosting, but don't want to be in the hole from the start..

I did a few searches and it seems, much like the rest of Canada, raked games in Manitoba are illegal.

I think across Canada non-raked home games are legal.

Don't rake. Find another way to get food and booze on the table. Get e-transfers for shares on an unrelated day. Get people to bring stuff on their own. Or just cover it as host.

Step 3: Order takeout, everyone pays for their own food.
Step 4: Enjoy your legal game and gamble it up!
