so I’ve heard that the money tree TRKs are not leaded. is there a list of which are and which aren’t? that could save me a lot of wasted time and money.

I believe that might be correct, but they are still awesome!! IMHO, most of the TRKs above 9 grams in weight are awesome:

Hot stamped unleaded, 8.5ish grams = blah

Unleaded with edge spots, > 9 grams = awesome

Leaded = super awesomer!!

You're very welcome! One last recommendation. I was turned off by hot stamps after buying some home game hot stamps. But don't avoid buying hot stamps because of your experience with the home game chips. There are some fantastic hot stamps (e.g. Kings Crown and Casbah Clubs) that make awesome fracs. If contemplating hot stamps, you can always ask for the weight to determine whether or not you will like them. 8.5ish grams...blah.

I actually am not 100% positive on this. But I can definitely tell you there is a HUGE difference in how some of the chips feel. Home game hot stamps feel very light and almost plastic like after they have been in play for awhile. They definitely leave you wondering what all the TRK excitement is all about.

Money Trees def leaded. Only TRKs I know that weren't leaded were lcrowns, made by USPC in the '20s and '30s (and possibly Burt Co. later).

This shit definitely leaded. Most of the old Reno casino TRKs will be leaded.

The Money Tree / Mapes $5s are lighter in weight (avg of 9.08 grams when weighing a rack) due to the color (composition to make that color).
The pink Money Tree $.50s on the other hand are heavy bricks (12.3 grams!).. Mapes $1s about 11 grams.
TRK (like Paulson, CPC(ASM), etc.) range in weight. The radiant / dayglo colors are normally lighter in weight.

Definitely all TRK’s are not made the same just like Paulsons. Mapes $1’s feel different than the $5’s. Nevada Lodge Redfield chips are different than many others. Usually the solids with initial hot stamps feel much lighter. Money treee .50 are heavy as bricks. Lesson... get samples!
