Yep, and you can use the add-on opportunity to create a special commemorative version of the $5. I'm thinking adding two 1/8" spikes in each 1/4 pie (using the other 1/4 color) would be a remarkable chip.

^^ This is true for NL. For FL this is an understatement. Your set'd need to be absolutely f*cking humongous.
I have 1,100 $1 chips for $4/$8 limit, and that's still way too little. 2,000 chips would be more in the vicinity of what I'd like to have to be able to host this game on a full table.
I may just buy a set of 2,000 $1 Paulson chips when I'm in Vegas next month. Any suggestions on where to buy these? Bellagio? Aria? MGM? Monte Carlo? Flamingo?
Man, my group only plays $0.25/0.25 (we typically don't even get $5 chips into play) and I ordered:
300 x $0.25
300 x $1
600 x $5
200 x $25
100 x $100
For my CPC order. Waaaay bigger than my game plays. I bet I will add on before even getting a rack of $5s into play. Seems like I'll need like $300 more $1s and maybe a couple more racks of $5s...
I started with 1000 chips in mind, like you, and 1000 is way more than my game needs right now, but this set is for the ages, right?
I probably won't ever play bigger than 1/2 or 1/3 NL and 2/4 Limit though.

Yepp, it is for ages. Might add-on later, if needed. And the set is way much bigger I need now. But still, I love full racks and big sets. Now I get both
