Hey everyone! I know i made a silly thread a while ago asking about the differences of bridge size copagas, and poker size copags.
https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...vs-bridge-size-what-are-your-opinions.135291/

After hearing some talk online a long time ago of there being a difference in wide or narrow, with poker being far superior. but after a lot of replies (thank you everyone) it just seems like size is personal preference and not factual differences in manufacturing.

Now then, I do know Copags have been made in Brazil for a long time. But depending on the deck or set you buy items easy to find made in Belgium copags, are there any true differences or things to know about each counties' manufacturing? I've looked through some forums here and it seems Brazil has produced some bad sets, i do not know if that's lower QA in recent years out of Brazil.

But would like hear people's reviews or opinions on Belgium vs Brazilian made copags, if there's no difference I'll pick what set i like the most. But if one fades faster or one is truly superior I'm okay with spending a bit more if required

(Update: i haven't even posted this thread yet, but the copag set i was looking at that seems to be made in Belgium is 100 dollars to ship now vs the like 13 to ship last week. I was going to order quite a bit of cards from them to make it worth it as they combined shipping. Obviously not pretending to pay that much, but if there's a US store I'll be okay trying out 15 for a single deck vs 21 for a set if it's a massive upgrade.)

I really like the classic look of these above, something about the blue and diamond back. But sucks if it truly is this costly to buy any euro cards now; be it plastic, French tarot decks, Italian/german/Spanish suited playing cards. Outrageous since no one here makes german suited cards for example, very sad. Hope this thread isn't a dummy dumb post on my end, genuinely wanted to know. Sadly if it's impossible I'll just stick with what i can get

Been a while since your post, but here's my 2 cents. What's often being said about the Belgian Copags: thicker stock, smoother feel to the cards and more consistent quality. According to some posts here on the forum it's possible to buy two Brazil Copag decks, one great, one terrible. That's supposedly less likely with the Belgian made ones.
That being said, I've got a Brazilian and a Belgian deck of Copag Texas Hold'Ems in front of me right now, a direct comparison learns the following:
- Different stock for sure. Slightest color difference in the white. More distinct PVC smell on the Brazilians
- Contrary to the above, the Brazilian stock is thicker by a hair. Same flex
- The Belgian Copags do have a somewhat nicer, smoother feel while handling. They are, in fact, less textured than the Brazilian deck
- Belgians fan somewhat. Brazilians fan terribly. If that's important to you...
Can't comment on the QC, not enough data. In conclusion: the exact same they are not, but I for sure wouldn't call it night and day.

totally chill, that's kind of what i thought would be the case. side by side sure you can feel the difference, i just didn't know if the brazilin ones caught on fire if you shuffled them too good and made everyone yell "now that was epic". but with how costly imports are (even with a penpal in england so no import fees) it's more hassle to make sure i don't get a wrong listing and it's too late, that'd suck

as a side note it's like the 3 big paper card brands, Bicycle, Bee and Tally-Hos. they all are different in stock, finish, weight, flexibility. but if you aren't going from one deck to the other in 10 mins you won't notice or care, i do plan just for fun for a little review of paper cards. i know it's a sin but it's just for fun, and maybe people might find it cool or share neat stories. i love that Tally-hos (blue circle backs being the common one) are used in The Sopranos, the sting The French connection, and either 007 Live and let die OR Moonraker, watched them back to back but i feel like it was live and let die. In Sopranos they swap between rider backs and tally ho fan + circle backs, idk that's cool. i know a lot of people get that way about Kems in Rounders.

but in short no it's appreciated to get replies and voices even if the post is older
