would appreciate ideas for inlay text on the bottom that is completely unrelated to the chip theme. Remember seeing "Cash value" or something but did not save it, and most designs I see usually put a location, which is not what I want.

From chatgpt: real-life casinos often print inlay text on poker chips that’s practical, legal, or operational — often generic and sometimes totally unrelated to the theme.

No Cash Value or the Location. Or maybe a quote or motto? If you share the inlay design we could assist.

I'm looking to put a legal disclaimer or something "formal" just like a real casino may put on their own chips.

Well No Cash Value on the bottom would be a half ass defense if you ever got raided by local police.

And you don’t “need” anything on the bottom either.

Hope this is going on Greek mold!

Bottom text could be

“Out of this World”

I was considering tina hybrids but I want to try making faux molds. And I doubt the police in my country will care about a 10c/20c game :wtf:

Would roman mold work better cus Venus is from roman mythology? Is it even possible for faux mold? Just learnt about this mold today.

Roman mold has been retired, I'm not saying its impossible, I'm saying its not going to happen... unless of course you commission the mold. Are you a superhero?

The chip you featured would be referred to as a house mold, I think that one is a Tina chip

I want to recreate it with a faux mold on a no mold tina ceramic (not hybrid), learnt about faux mold yesterday and hoarded some pics to use as reference

I’m not sure the faux mold have a good texture to them like the new Tina hybrid molds. It’s an advantage to have the texture on the mold for shuffling, stacking, etc..

read about molds affecting this but nvr rly dove deep, I wanted faux molds only because the customisation of "molds" seem awesome. Mind explaining how real molds actually affect those things?

I made the Alladin, Stardust, Mirage and a number of custom faux molds for people. I can help if you want to ho that route. It can be anything you want.
Also, the no-mold chips that you print the faux mold on have plenty of texture, but some of the chips do suffer from spinners

haha i learnt about faux molds and how to make them from your posts, I did plan to DM u again to ask. I wanted to

  1. finish the inlay design
  2. make the .ai files for the edge spots
first before DMing u. Thanks! (P.S. do you have greek and roman mold? Still have not decided one the mold I want but I am leaning towards those 2 to fit this theme)

I created the Greek mold just for mock-ups so anyone can see what their chips will look like when printed on the hybrid Greek mold chips…
But I guess it would print fine to use as a faux mold as well.
Just to confirm, you are not getting hybrids, you are getting no-mold chips?

99% certain, hybrid just doesnt seem smart for a first time set. Almost 2x the cost for me, but the supposed benefits keep making me have second thoughts...

just curious, what are the chances of the greek, web, sun mold that tina hybrids currently become discontinued like roman molds in, say, 10 years?

The roman mold was for compression-molded clay chips, used by CPC. A completely different process, using heat and pressure over decades, and the mold wore out (as I understand it)
The hybrids are injection molded plastic, and while I guess they could wear out too, I'm sure they don't take the same punishment. Also, they could be easily remade if needed, whereas the Roman mold cups are quite expensive to make (as I've read).
I think 10 years down the line, who knows what could happen with Tina chips....but your taste in chips is likely to change way before then. :ROFLMAO:

Historically, most runs of China chips last 3-5 years and then people just lose interest in them. It’s not so much the company stops making China chips, it’s more that the vendors lose interest in continuing to promote them.

I think there’s a better chance of multiple Chinese companies starting to make copies of these and then you will have 4-5 vendors of the “same product” but different printers turn out different shades of the same color and they will all be using different blanks.
They have already went through this with Tina at least once I believe, and even CPC has changed printers which affected their labels some if I recall correctly.

Search for or look up “Nevada Jacks” and you will see what I mean.

Other than a location, the denomination spelled out, or “no cash value”, I’m not sure I’ve seen much else.
A legal disclaimer…maybe “Do Not Eat”? :ROFLMAO:

But seriously, maybe “Redeem at Cashier’s Cage”?
I don’t know…this is a tough one.

To OP, I would recommend you spend $20 or so to get some mixed mold/ no mold samples. I got a bunch to check out Tina’s - the no mold /faux molds look better in pictures. Personally I wasn’t a fan once I actually had them in hand though:

Recommend the hybrids if you go with Tina, your call.
