Hi there. I wanted to ask if anyone ever had an issue with light coloured poker chips. I think these chips only were only used maybe 12 times, however I noticed that that many of the chips had a blue stain on them. I have only attempted to clean them using some dawn, slightly warm waterm and an electric toothbrush. Is there something else I can try?

During games, we were also using the green (25s), black (100s) , pink (500s), and silver (5000s). The only chips that had blue dye were these yellow chips (edge spots)

Please let me know if there is a way to fix this. Thank you!

I dont own any yellows anymore, but i recently sold a sample set of the WTHC. They were pretty dirty, as they were used as a shuffle stack for a while. I used a magic eraser, and it cleaned em up real nice. The blue is color transfer, so its probably gonna come back....

Definitely looks like color transfer to me. there's lots of threads on here about how to clean poker chips, but most of it is targeting the crud that you accumulate in a casino. Ultrasonic cleaners can probably get this stuff off, but that might be a drastic approach. I still say that Dawn and a toothbrush is probably the safest most effective way.

Skip the toothbrush, WAY too tedious. A wood handled nail brush with natural bristles is easy on the chips, and large enough to get it done quickly....er...quicker.

thanks everyone for your suggestions. I tried soaking the chips in soapy dawn water for 10 minutes prior to brushing with an electric toothbrush.

I will most probably use the magic eraser on the hard-to-clean stains and replace the eletric toothbrush witha nail brush with natural bristles to speed up the process.

Once they're all clean will oil them lightly with mineral oil. It's such a relief knowing I didn't damage these chips. Thanks again for all of your suggestions.

Yep, same as above. Most likely color transfer from darker chips and hand oils. Magic eraser should take it right off

I own a bunch of these chips and have never had colour transfer like that, touch wood. Good luck with cleaning them.
