Are there chips racks out there for 36mm chips?
Our 36mm's live perfectly fine in Paulson 39mm racks

Wanna sell those moss greens !!
I sold several racks of them a while back. Definitely out there in the wild, I had to run down 5 of the original 10 sets released to get to 200 of the T1ks. This is a 1 of a kind set and not going anywhere, I call them Olive green but what ever they are, they are my favorite in the set! The color scheme of this one is one of my favorite solid tourney line ups out there.

yes the 25s are awesome, they are also what I will double as "quarters" since they are smaller than regular chips and still horse shoes for my HSI's. I have looked at other options and labelling other chips but I just couldn't settle for that over the real quarters where the label is attached. 25nvc is good enough for me.

Re:the T10000,40000.200000 sets

Are the NCV black 100's , Purple 500's and orange 1000's in the 10000 set the same as those in the 40000 and 200,000 sets or are they of a slightly different shade...the picture shows a slight color difference, is this a shadow or a different shade?

i think the lighting in the first picture is a little off, i'm sure they're the same. no reason to have primary/secondary tournament sets if they're NCV

Just saying that the $100, $1k, and $5k are all amazing on the MS chips. The others leave something to be desired. But overall I think the lineup is nice and these chips are going for crazy cheap, 29¢ a CHIP for the fivers. New memebers this is your chance to get some good chips!

paying less than china clay price for real casino used chips is a no brainer. sure, might be a little dirty but china clays can smell really bad, and it's easier to clean some gunk off your chips than it is remove the burnt rubber smell of china clays. couldn't agree more

I don't know if I'd call them "good" chips. They're real Paulson, they're from a real casino. But they are real worn. Like really really worn. Jim even said that for some barrels, 21 fit in a slot. He even threw "bicycle tire" name at them.
Just remember, the 25s, 1s and especially the 5s are cheap, even by TCR standards. There's a reason for that.

I want new people to get Paulson's as much as the next chipper, but new people should manage their expectations.

This right here is a valid point, though.

Hopefully everyone is looking at the photos. $25 and down certainly look pretty rough. $100s look decent for used chips. As you said, Jim is not trying to fool anyone. They're used, but they're real clay Paulsons. And the prices are fair for what they are.

As a new guy here I was really excited to see the low denominations at such a great price, but I'm definitely concerned about the level of wear. I notice that in the pictures, there are 21 chips squeezed into one barrel for the 25's and 5's. I think that might drive me crazy. Is that also the case for the used Jack Cincy 5's, or could you generally count on only 100 fitting into a rack?

Jack Cincy is a great set to start with. I highly recommend it and it's what I started with. They have the standard nicks and flea bites of a casino used chip, but they fit 20 per barrel and 100 per rack like you'd expect them too.

jack 5s are a mixed lot. Many appear only slightly better than the majestic stars (and you could squeeze 21 of the lesser condition ones in a row of a rack for sure) but some are really good. Edge spots are more appealing to me on the majestics but not by much. Price difference isn’t that much so I’d lean jack but a playable set would probably be at least 1.5x as expensive.

Basically they’re both well priced by modern Chip standards and will both (I think) sell for slightly more once they’re sold out so it’s not like you have to worry about blowing money. Worst case is you’re out the shipping cost.

with the lower denominations, buy excess. cherry pick the best chips and use them in your set and ditch the ones with the most wear.

Someone asked earlier if chip limits are off after the first hour. Just to make sure: if I'm only interested in buying a ton of 5's, I can't do it while the percentages apply. I'd need to wait until the end of the first hour. yes?

yeah that's right, limits for the first hour. you'll have no problem buying the used 5s. there's gotta be at least 100,000 of them

Visited Majestic Star back in 2015. I remember how in bad shape chips were, I took a few sample chips for my single collection.
I have a "grand opening" 5$ chip very worn, its diameter was less than 39mm.
1$ and 5$ chips had two different inlays (white and pink, I took only one with pink inlay), plus a lot of commemorative 5$ in play.
I had a nice run at blackjack table, so I got 3x 5$, otherwise I had taken only 1s and snapper

The Casino is opened at 1996, so beware that the $1 $5 $25 $100 will have some damage wear from up to 20+ years of usages

Nevertheless, it still a good opportunity to get an used set of real casino chips at super low price, below $200 for a $1/1 $1/2 stake chip set of 500 that is almost a no brainer to buy. Some Chip cost over $500 each

@TheChipRoom are the bacc room mixed in? will we see GO chips mixed in as well?

did you get the roulettes ?

bike tires are really not the worst thing - gaping flea bites / uneven ware is worse IMO. There’s a certain charm in having completely rounded edges. Clearly worse than good condition chips overall but better to shuffle. And you don’t really have to worry about putting damage on them because most flea bites are formed on sharp edges.

I also bought the Jack chips from Jim (as a first set) and I would say they are excellent for the price. As mentioned the 5s and 20s vary a bit in terms of wear. Some of the 5s and 20s I received are in very good condition. Just buy some extras and remove the worst of them.
