3 Casinos I worked at cage peeps would not just rack check one swipe down side flip rack down side. ( they would swipe the chip across the side back and forth sometimes 3-4 times a side. So wouldn’t take long that way) are cameras and cage security had to see the physical rack check on 100s and above so that’s why we had some murdered 100s that looked comparable!!!

1 casino I worked at laughed at the rack check when we was opening ( gaming commission wanted them to do it they said no !!) so we counted every rack!

So plausible lots of the chips could look like that.

After looking through 500 of them these 11 were the worst of it. But from the side most of these looked to be excellent and chalky in condition. It’s like they were barely put it play and beaten up on one side. If they can be cleaned they will be in great shape.

Looks like 3rd down on the left is the worst of them. I'll pay shipping and return shipping! Science is fun! Has anyone got those clean yet? The really bad ones?

That bottom middle chip looks like fun. Would an ultrasonic even work on this much gunk without damaging the chip?

I've always found magic erasers work well on rack check marks. But I've never had any chips that were anything close to being in the same neighbrhood as those.

I have found often a bit of careful scratching with a knife is necessary, almost like baked on plastic... definitely never seen any that bad, and that's why I am looking forward to trying! Haha

The more intense your cleaning is, the more likely you're going to want to oil them afterward, because they'll be dried out and faded looking from the process. If you planned on oiling them anyway, definitely tsp. I'd only recommend a magic eraser for spot cleaning and edge cleaning because using just an eraser is kind of unwieldy, and they dissolve quickly. When cleaning the edges (whether with a magic eraser or with a brush) stack ten or twenty chips and do the edges all at once.
And for the love of god, don't listen to any toothbrush advice, unless you're trying to avoid damaging hotstamps. For inlaid Paulsons, just get yourself a dishwashing brush like this, that can clean the whole chip with a few swipes (after the dirt has been loosened by a soak in dawn or tsp or whatever.)

if anyone wants to get rid of extra 100s becasue they're too dirty i'll take them off your hands. maybe even at a premium. send pics and we can discuss price. :tup:

In these cases I would reconsider to remove the label and try to get the clay clean with magic eraser and relabel

Yes. I was actually considering maybe joining #teamblackdollar and turning 200 into $1’s. Might also turn 80 into $20’s for a different set. Decisions decisions.
The $500’s are not as sticky, gunky, hooker juicey but def need a wash. I’ll post pics this morning after I get the kids off to school in between work calls.

The $500’s def need a light clean but I think the flakes in them make them appear a little dirty in pictures.

The $100’s are gross and make a huge difference when cleaned. The Hundos on the right are sharp and I didn’t even scrub the edges that much.
 
Thanks...I have 2 racks $500 underway...hope to cherry pick one VGC rack after cleaning.
Since I can not stand faux shaped inlays, these will be murdered

Those hundo's look AWSOME...how many minty ones are in your racks ?
 
Can't wait to see my hundos, but they're still a long way from Germany :rolleyes: Last time I checked they were in LA

And I’ll take your bad condition ones. Also possibly for a premium but a much smaller one obv (depends on condition, pm pics for offers).
