Hi all,
I recently bought a set of Majestic chips for Apache, and would like some advice on how to oil them. Firstly, should I clean the chips in water + dish soap first? After that, should I be compression oiling or doing the mineral oil + water trick? I've seen mixed opinions on whether compression oiling truly makes that big of a difference compared to mineral oil + water.
Thanks all!

Yeah I read through that thread already, so is cleaning and mineral oil with water the best approach?
A few drops of mineral oil on th corner of a cloth will do. Grab a barrel of chips and wipe a thin film on just the edges. Then wipe off each chip with a different cloth, while wiping the faces as well. Simple.
No need to get into all that "compression" BS, or leaving them out to "dry". After a small wipedown, pop them back in whatever case you have and call it a day.

oh rly, why in the thread are ppl going all out and doing the mineral + oil method or even compression oiling their majestics 😭. This is all a little confusing if the simple solution is to just wipe them with oil.

This and then roll around in them

:wtf:

They’re non porous so they’re not going to absorb much if any at all. Simple cleaning in cold water or damp cloth to get off the dust. Oiling them will probably make them unnecessarily slippery.
