OK, so i'm having trouble moving the large riverboat set that's been on offer for a few months now. I thought I'd try a raffle. I will need 35 entries at $20/each in order to make this happen, with shipping cost split between buyer and myself. I am new to the raffle gig, but I'm sure we can find some verifiably random way to select the winner. I know its a matter of picking some public lottery drawing number or something. We can figure that out if/when significant interest is expressed. The raffle with be for the set of 1060 BCC Riverboat V1's described and pictured here:

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/large-bcc-riverboat-v1-tournament-set-t-mold-reduced.19019/

There will be a maximum of 45 entries. If we get more than 40, I will include the rack of T5K riverboat v2's also pictured in the aforementioned thread. Please indicate that you are in for it and I will maintain a running list, with payments to be made via paypal (F&F or you cover the fee) when we know its gonna fire. I appreciate any and all questions and interest, and look forward to finding these chips a good home. Here's one pic for good measure, again check the other thread for all relevant info. Thanks!

THE LIST!

*Shipping outside the CONUS will be extra, I am willing to cover half the CONUS shipping, please be advised.

EDIT: Since I am at best losing around $100 on this sale vs. what I paid, I'm going to give it a solid week to fill up before closing the action. At that point I will refer to more experienced forum members' raffle posts to determine an acceptable randomization strategy and public lotto drawing. Thanks everyone, happy to give back to the forum, its been a great place to lurk and ogle huge collections of amazing chips.

Gonna go with the NJ pick three midday drawing tomorrow

Just a thought. Since I assume that the winning number will be based on a pick 3, there are 1000 possibilities. To give each entry an equal share, you will need to cap the entries at 40 or 50, since 1000 is not evenly divisible by 45
This is correct, but there is a way around this. With 45 entries, 22 numbers could be assigned to each entry = 990 total possibilities, and on the slim chance the pick 3 hit the 10 numbers outside of the assigned numbers, then no one wins that draw, and the next pick 3 draw determines the winner.

OK, I will cap at 50.

NVM, we'll stick with 45 since that affects peoples willingness to get in. if we miss, we will do the next one.

I am in for 1!

Just a suggestion as to how to randomly select the winner, which I have used for giveaways myself ( Not here, or even poker chips). You could use a RNG app, where you input the number of entries, and the app will randomly select a number between 1-45. I'm not sure if that is the fairest way to go about it, but when I held a raffle/giveaway I used this method and it seemed to work great.

As a matter of public record and to make it 100% impartial and infallible from a protest standpoint, a Pick 3 number from a lottery is the fairest way of conducting these kind of raffles.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense @Kain8.
@Mockk, FYI, the lottery number ranges assigned to each participant are posted in advance of the lottery drawing for everyone to see -- example here.

I just attempted to send F & F and I received this:

Your payment is being reviewed because of regulations.
We're working fast to resolve this. In the meantime, here's some information about the situation:

  • We usually complete this process within 72 hours, with your cooperation.
  • For now, this review only involves this transaction and does not affect the use of your PayPal account.
  • We'll send an email soon to keep you in the loop, and will follow-up with you when it's complete or if we need more information.

Payment sent. I didn't get any special message, so hope it goes through without issue.

Payment sent. No problem w paypal.

(Just FYI for anyone who doesn't know, don't put PCF in Paypal note line.
www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/paypal-and-pcf-please-read.4262/)

Ahh!! I am new to all this, and I wrote" Mockk PCF" in the description line :(
No wonder my payment is "Under Review". I apologize, I had no idea.

Is there a way I can get around this, and still enter the raffle? I may have a second PP account, I just have to remember the login info.
