The fold in the table isn’t a bother?
For me, personally, I hate the fold. Others don't mind it. I suspect that this variance in feedback is due to quality control standards for the barrington tables. Because they're "cheap" stock tables, I bet that some tables have folds that aren't perfectly even. For me, the cards were getting stuck passing over the fold constantly hence why I wanted to order the above table toppers. For others, I've heard that's not a big deal and the fold is "even".

Aside from performance, I personally think the fold looks terrible :). All this being said, the money was right for the Barrington and I don't regret getting it at all.

Did you try adjusting the tension of the cable underneath to make the table "even"? That's what I had to do when I received my table and no complaints since then.

Also...refelted Barrington > PCF table topper > stock Barrington.

Yeah... Unfortunately couldn't get it to align. I think the wood underneath might be slightly warped. For $100 I couldn't justify the effort to send it back.

Scored TWO of these today for $100 each on FB marketplace. Seller even through in 1000 dice chips that’ll I’ll probably try and re-home.

Both have a few small nicks and tears in the vinyl, but nothing that some black tape couldn’t hide.

Is there a preferred type of tape to fix/repair torn rail vinyl?

got my new felt from @T_Chan and rubber to replace the padding.

this will be the 2nd time i'll be updating my table. first one was adding speed cloth, 2nd was adding deeper cup holders.

any tips/tricks when adding cloth from @T_Chan ? same with adding the new padding, im assuming you just spray the 3M adhesive and throw it on.

For the padding, you need to cut the padding where the rails meet the playing surface. Padding under the rails will not let the rails go back on right.

Just gonna throw my 2 cents in. These mofos are heavier than $hit!! I would avoid them like the plague. I picked one up to use as a portable table, but found that they suck compared to other options because they are so heavy. I have a table similar to the one below as well, and it is much easier to move around.

I have a few questions…

1) A few types of foams have been mentioned ( Ensolite, volera, neoprene, headliner, HD foam). Is there one specific foam that is the better?

2) Any tips from those who replaced the foam on cutting the new foam to the correct size?
If you replace the foam, make sure you cut the foam AT THE RAIL! I made the mistake of thinking the rails would go back on with new foam underneath the rail pieces, yeah, didn't work. Once I cut the foam to the size on the playing surface only, everything went back together great.

3) Since adhesive spray is used when laying down new foam, do you have to wait a certain amount of time before you start to laying down the felt over the new foam.

4) When installing the deeper cup holders, what is holding them in place?

5) For those that used a custom felt by @T_Chan ( @WhiteMamba1646 @wonderpuddle @JZPdub ). Did you guys use an adhesive spray when laying down the felt?

6) What type of staple gun did you use?

Thanks

Can’t speak to the foam, but:

4) I did not add anything under the deeper cup holders and they stay in quite well. Most of the support comes from the snug fit in the newly cut holes and from the rail itself. (Some others have added an extra piece underneath for support.) My cup holders stay in when folding up for storage as well. So no issue there.

6) Standard staple gun.

Take off the rails, spray adhesive where the existing foam is underneath.

Cut to size.

Lay speed cloth over the the foam. You’ll need to apply tension evenly so use some clamps to hold the speed foam and staple in into place.

Cut to size.

Re-install foam rails.

You’ll have to do this twice. Double check measurements. And wha-la

Put it back together and play.

Cup Holders: drill the correct size hole through, and simply set the cup holder in place. No need for a permanent adhesion. Sometimes people will drop something in the cup holder and wont be able to get the item out. (Herb grinders or whatever there is out there that fits perfectly lol)

No, didn’t use spray adhesive. Just used clamps to put it in place, and then tightened it as I put the staples in. Given how much tweaking you may need to do to get the two pieces to line up, I would advise against the spray adhesive.

On my barrington, I just re-used the cheap foam that was there. In retrospect, closed cell foam would have probably been better. But this was my first table and I didn’t know any better. It still works, but my round table top and my chanman feel better.

I lightly sprayed some fabric adhesive when I installed my felt. Not sure it was necessary but I did use some.

Hope this helps.

Dude! Did you post the deal here? Next time post it so we can get one too
It was in person in northeast PA, when I went online it was the $230 one they currently have. I actually wonder if it was a mistake in the store

Woah, you should have cleaned them out haha

What's the size of the (padded) rail? Any difference between the Barrington versions?

No different

Edit: brown rails are the same as the regular and ESPN table.

ESPN table has a slightly higher rail and a simple switch underneath that you’d have to work around. But it’s only higher up to accommodate the LED strip
