BALLAD OF A SMALL PLAYER (1 Viewer)

So.. what chips were used in the film?
Some Jetons early in the film:

But the bulk of them are labeled plastic sluggos, possibly re-labeled Monte Carlo style chips?:

And look at the flashing on the edges of these chips, especially that tall stack on the left, and the blue/green stack on the right!
They really needed to trim them. :ROFLMAO:

Watched this tonight. I'll hold off on my thoughts except for the following:

Gloves and warping every card he touched tilted me.
Everyone should try creasing cards in bacc

Can’t do it at the table section out on the floor but can in the bacc salon. go when it’s dead and they have empty tables (9 am) and in my experience they are usually pretty accommodating about letting you play lower than the stated per hand max (which can be obscene like $1000+) YMMV. I’ve had good luck polite “hi, let me ask you, I was going to play just a quick bit, is there any way I can do $100/ hand”

Peel your cards covering the index. Check slowly how many pips on side. Check in such a way that it can never be used again (they are single use either way). Need a 6 (but not 7 or 8)…see 3 across, ok awesome. Flip vertical. You want no pip in center. Hit that, ok great, you’ve gone from a 1-2 to 2-1 favorite 66%, flip it again, and crease the shit out of it. Feels so wrong. But feels so right. Especially after bad beats in poker. The deck did you wrong. Time for revenge

Til Colin Farrel has never won an Academy Award, and only once nominated for Oscar.

That's a shame. I don't know if it's more his acting or his selection of projects, but he might be one of the only actors with such a large portfolio where I've enjoyed almost every single project he's partaken in.

Agreed. I am a particularly big fan of his work in The New World and In Bruges.

I believe that bending the cards is usual for Squeeze Baccarat. The tables have a bucket built into them to throw away the cards since they get bent to hell every hand. Asians love it, trying to squeeze the pips right off the cards.
