For Sale Argosy Casino Tournament Chips - Charity Auction (ENDED - congrats to Victor!) (1 Viewer)

I picked up a fantastic set of 820+ Argosy Casino Tournament chips at the beginning of the year. Soon after, I had an opportunity to pick up another set of casino tournament hot-stamps (giving me three total sets). The truth is I really don't need more than one, let alone three. So after giving it some thought, I decided to part with these.

I got a pretty good deal on them at the time, and I think they're worth a bit more than what I originally paid. However, I'm not looking to make anything on the sale of these chips. Instead, what I'd like to do is donate all the profit from the sale of these chips to the @links_slayer's fundraising efforts where ultimately the money will go to the University of Wisconsin Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center's Head and Neck Cancer research fund. I will start the auction at the price I paid for the chips back in January ($1500), and any amount over the starting bid will be donated to @links_slayer's fundraiser.

The breakdown of the set is as follows:

T5 (200)
T25 (200)
T100 (200)
T500 (100)
T1000 (60)
T5000 (60)

+ about two dozen spares (mostly T5 and T500)

Rules:
  • All bids are to be placed openly in this thread (PM bids do not count).
  • Any member with less than 10 posts at the start time of the auction must contact me before bidding.
  • Starting bid is $1500, with a minimum increments of $20. Edited bid posts will be voided.
  • Shipping will be at the expense of the buyer. I estimate that fully insured shipping via USPS will run about $30-$40 within the US, and up to $100 for destinations outside the US. Please PM for details if you'd like an estimate on shipping costs before placing a bid.
  • Final payment (including shipping) will be made via PayPal (FF). If you'd like to use another method of payment, please discuss it with me ahead of time before bidding.
  • Auction closes on Wednesday, June 1st at 10PM EDT and incorporates the "5 minutes after last closing bid rule". Highest bid before 10:00pm will win the auction unless there is a bid within 5 minutes of closing time. Then the closing time will be 5 min. after that last bid was posted. For example, if someone bids at 9:55pm on next Sunday and no one bids after, then the auction ends at 10:00pm. Done! If there is a bid at 9:58pm, then that bid is good until 10:03pm. And more bids can ensue until 5 minutes time has passed without a bid.
  • I reserve the right to change the rules at any time, but will do so with the intent of running a fair auction.
  • Tommy and PCF are in no way responsible for any actions in this auction.
  • Please PM me at any time if you have any questions about the chips or the auction itself.
Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I fired the shot right before boarding on my flight to Asia, hoping that there's no hiding shooter out there... I'm thrilled and happy to win this auction and glad that I can do something toward the @links_slayer's fundraising efforts. I just joined PCF not long ago and has run into many good folks and helpful members here.

Thank you, everyone, again! I will certainly treasure these gems and taels!

@Victor you got a really fantastic deal on a beautiful set. Congrats. Casino solids don't seem to come around often in the classifieds lately...

@jbutler : yes, fantastic and fabulous! Thank you! Are you located in Seattle? Reminded me an old friend of mine who I lost contact for many years....

No I'm on the East coast, though we do have a good contingent of players in the Northwest here on the board.
