There are five different versions of the Pharaoh's Club and Casino chips, all the brainchild of Greg Cagle (of chiptalk.net fame) and designed by world-class designer
@Johnny5.
Three versions are compression-molded clay (with embedded inlays), produced by Paulson/GPI from 2005-2009. The most common Paulson set contains seven different denominations (25c, $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1000) on the PAULSON CHIPS mold, while two other Paulson sets contain seven chips each featuring inlay artwork with no denominations -- one set on the PAULSON CHIPS mold, and another set on the Paulson Card Pip (suits) mold. These are all true 'clay' chips, originally sold for ~$1.29 each and currently worth about $4-$5 per chip.
Two other versions are injection-molded 'china clay' plastics (with adhesive-backed laminated vinyl labels), made in Chinese plastics factories using the two-sided Pharaoh's mold (different markings on each side). The
cc chip sets have nine denominations (5c, 25c, $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1000, $5000) using color schemes that match the original Paulson chip sets, and through the use of ingenious mold design, are able to provide five different edgespot configuration 'looks' with just three different base molds. The injection point cut-off is under the label on one side.
The
cc Pharaoh's Club chips were initially imported and offered by TheChipRoom.com (along with the original Dunes Hotel/Resort Commemorative and the Desert Palms china clays), and later by ApachePokerChips.com (unknown if they are still produced by the same plastics factory as the initial
cc chips). Originally sold in 2009 for 32c each, they currently retail for 49c per chip, and are considered by many to be the pinnacle of china clay chip design.
The chips pictured in the OP appear to be the china clay version, with visual differences due to poor photographic reproduction -- ask for better pics. And if you have found Sun-Fly hybrids at the same price point, I think that's a better value.
