Another Life Update... (2 Viewers)

Congrats man! Health for your whole family!

Oscar,

Thanks for the update!

Obviously, sorry that you are juggling this very specific ripple in your lives on top of another ripple that you have been so wiling to share with the group. However, congratulations to you and Lilah and welcome to the world, Archer!

My sister-in-law had twin girls who were delivered quite early, but they are both thriving and are an epic handful years later, having just started first grade. I'm hopeful for you and Lilah that your newest addition to the family is strong and brilliant and beautiful and will continue to be for your family.

Thank you for being so open with the group with the trials and tribulations of your family. It's nice to be able to support (from a distance) and cheer on people we care about.

Congrats. All the best on both fronts.

Congratulations Okku! That’s fantastic news! Best wishes to your family! I’m sure it was terrifying for a bit, our son gave us quite the scare, too. I’m sure you’ll be telling him the story before you can seemingly blink! Legendary people need a nice back story, this is just the beginning!

Congrats! I second that. Get your sleep now because pretty soon you will have to wait a while and even as they get older good luck :)

Congratulations Oscar!! Our third was a NICU baby as well, and it was stressful at times, for my wife especially. The more we learned to lean on those NICU nurses until we really had a good handle on things, the more it became a (mostly) stress free situation. Enjoy the extra help for as long as you have it. Your little guy will grow up faster than you realize

Congratulations - for the family addition, the new job, and (not to be overlooked) the amazing amount of grace and dignity that you utilized to handle the bad hands you were dealt. This thread should be an inspiration for anyone going through a tough time.

Congratulations! Big news on both fronts, but one is especially special. These moments now, in the hospital; in the NICU, tired, scared, elated, exhausted and all the other emotions; these are the moments that will always live with you. They are some of the true milestone moments of your life. You will look back (sooner than you can imagine) so just be present for all of it. Again, congrats Oscar.

Grabbing this from Aili:

After 79 long days in this hospital and 47 days since Archer’s arrival, we are finally discharged. It feels impossible to describe what this moment means. Every single day here has been a mix of fear, heartbreak, and hope, but Archer never stopped fighting. He is the strongest person I have ever known. He has pushed through everything that tried to hold him back and proved that miracles are real. After all the pain and the endless waiting, we finally get to bring our boy home. And the best part is knowing he finally gets to meet his big sister, the one who has been waiting so patiently to hold him, love him, and see the little brother she’s heard so much about, and didn’t believe he was real. Archer, we did it buddy! YOU did it buddy! here’s to no more snuggles interrupted by cords!

I'll tell you guys... he looks exactly like I did as a baby! So happy that he home now. Lilah has been talking nonstop about him and keeps checking up on him, it's the cutest thing in the world. Hopefully no more unexpected hospital visits here in the near future and we can start relaxing more here at home.

Aili and I will be looking through all of the gifts that were bought via our registry here this week hopefully and start thanking people via DMs if we haven't yet. I truly cannot thank you guys enough, from the bottom of our hearts. I love you.

Great to hear Oscar! You got one tough little guy right there. What an answer to prayer.

@Okku i am just now seeing this thread. Wow! What a tough journey. Congratulations on getting that little guy home! May your family be blessed beyond measures in the days to come. You’ve earned it!
