Holy cow is eBay ripping off sellers! (1 Viewer)

Don't they charge the buyer sales tax then remove it from the sale? That's collected from the buyer if I'm not mistaken....see below on a sale I made yesterday...

Right. But that $12.93 transaction fees they took from you? That’s 13.7% of the $94.56 that the buyer paid in total, which includes price $83, + shipping $6, + tax $5.66.

So yeah, they took the sales tax from the buyer, but then they went ahead and took 13.7% of that amount from you too, just because they can.

Because that's the cost of the service? I guess I just knew that cost so I expect it. Ebays still the best service to sell Sports cards and such for a good rate.

No argument. And I'll keep paying it. But something about it feels wrong.

Eh... If I go cosign my firearms at my gun shop. They take 15%. I think in our hobby we are super lucky on our sales here being free. eBay can hit some sticker shock if ya don't look and the high priced shit.

I don't sell on marketplace because Facebook is the devil, so maybe I'm just so used to it.

Would you like some cheese with your whine? Classic CPF go nowhere post.
