There has to be a better option than the Michael's displays out there. They are too small and a pain to open on the wall.

Anyone find any good displays for singles and samples that isn't custom?

Unfortunately I believe if there were a better option it would already be common knowledge to this group

I bought mine from Amazon

There are some on Amazon that look nicer/bigger but they are $50 bucks each. I guess I should have ordered 10 from Michael's when they were on sale last week dammit.

Yeah they suck! Haha j/k I love em. Just change out the mounting hardware. They are perfect for sample sets. For singles, find something bigger.

For mine, I used the original mounting hardware and drilled an extra drywall screw to prevent from tilting sideways. It also helps supporting the weight of the frame and chips.

Big fan of sfdisplay cases here. The size for casino chips accepts regular chips in air-tites and 43mm chips without air-tites. I recently bought some with adjustable shelves to accommodate dealer buttons and plaques. No photos until I get around to hanging and filling them.

@Jeff kindly helped me hang four display cases when I lived in Illinois. We used the original mounting hardware (sawtooth hangars) and wall anchors. I supplemented this with Command strips at the bottom so that brushing against them or opening the door didn't cause the case to move.

I've gotten the best prices by ordering directly from http://www.sfdisplay.com/.

Any suggestions for displaying dealer buttons? Looks like these would be a tight fit.

Just ordered one of these. Can you explain the drywall screw, I am an idiot when it comes to tools and shit. Did you have to drill/hammer the rubber thing into the wall then screw through the case into the rubber thing? Or did you just screw right through into the wall?

Easiest option is if you know you will be hitting a wall stud (use a stud finder or hammer a really thin nail into the wall and if you feel resistance after you go through the drywall, then you know there is a wall stud there). Just screw through the display case backing, through the drywall and into the stud. Done.

If there is no wall stud where you need it then you would need to use wall anchors. If you don't, then over time, the screw will just get pulled out of the wall. Use the supplied mount and hang your frame with that. While it is hung, screw through the backing of the case with a really thin drill bit. This will mark the case and the wall with the location of the screw/anchor hole. Remove the display case from the wall. Now use an appropriate size drill bit (slightly smaller diameter than the wall anchor) and drill through the drywall at the spot that was previously drilled with the thinner frill bit previously. Now tap your anchor into the wall with a hammer, rehang you display case and screw through the backing where you already drilled through and secure to the wall and into the anchor.

Thanks for the write up! I like instructions haha. Ordered wall screws and anchors this morning. I might do 2 screws, did you only use 1?

Whats the best way to hang the factory hardware? Just a nail in the drywall?

I personally wouldn't use any kind of wall mount for a poker chip display case without either hitting a stud or using wall anchors. The opening and closing of the doors would want to pull the case off the wall. I replaced the factory mount with the hangman cleats that I linked above for my cases and didn't add any additional attachments. I used 2 screws with wall anchors per cleat.

I used the hooks (see snapshot) to anchor the original hardware (pre installed at the back of the frame). Then drilled an extra drywall screw (1) inside the frame hidden between the removable rack so it will not tilt sideways... see attached picture.

I bought one of the large SF Display cases and, now that I have some free time, I’m finally getting around to hanging it.

Pretty sure I can find a stud ... and it comes with two wood screws. So I’m going to follow advice from @72o and screw them through the back of the case and into the stud.

Two questions ... what are these plastic thingamabobs for? And, I assume should I remove the metal hardware from the back of the case so it is flush against the wall? Thanks.
