The ones that get pushed to me in a big pot…@TheJestyr holy crap!!! Nice looking sets. What’s your fav 1k and 5k?
Haha not ballin’ when you’re loosing! lol! But great seeing the chips on the felt!I wish to be this level of baller!
Looks fantastic!
Finally COMPLETE! well for now. The relabel project is complete and felting them tonight. Thought I'd post some pics. Here's my humble collection, first set of Paulsons, and tonight at the home cash game will be the first time we don't play with china clay. Should be a blast.
Here's my story...
I joined on January 6th (no not that Jan 6th) two years ago in 2023. I wanted some chips that looked great and the JD's spoke to me right away. The fact they are from Detroit Michigan sealed my decision being a Michigander myself. Getting them was another story tho. After plenty of ppl wishing me good luck, they'll be hard to get, I was even more compelled to go after them. Below are all the people who helped sell me chips, gave advise, even gave me their dibs at times to boost my first collection. Can't thank you guys enough for all your help. Appologies if I missed anyone but I kept pretty good notes....
Special thanks to...
@horseshoez for the first Jack Detroits... 2 mint racks of 1s, @msuroo for some barrels, @jahmot for a full rack of $5s and dealer buttons, @doublebooyah85 for singles including 500s, and a dealer button, and tossed me my 20th $500 for free to complete a barrel, @Hunt247 for the snappers, a few dealer buttons and the cut cards, @johnjohn for a barrel of Hundreds and rack of watermelons and @Stackme with first dibs then pushed his dibs my way!, @TheJestyr for a rack of 5s about a total of 4 barrels of Hundreds and 3 barrels of watermelons, @casinochipper22 for the first rack of harvested Paris $2s that became Nickels, @Jeevansluck for 5 original JD frac singles not pictured, @Terrys394 for the other rack of pristine Paris $2s now relabeled, @Pinkdan and @ChadB for the cage Mint Santa Isabelle $2s now relabeled quarters, @Taghkanic for a shuffle stack of $500s and some hundreds, @YoungNoob for some trading, singles and a barrel of Hundreds, @JackDeRke for a shuffle stack of Hundreds, @turboj623 for the fortuitous rack of already relabeled Dover Downs for 1k's and @mitch3r ironically for one more barrel of the same dover down already relabeled to match the 1ks, @Hotus777 for a barrel of Hundreds, @Gear for the labels and @TheWhat for all the relabeling. @aaron2786 for the custom table topper. Tons of advise from each of you and others from the forum. Thank you so much for your advise, direction and support!
I know most of you have collections much larger than this and I went with faux fracs for obvious reasons and on the tournament chips I'm just too small timey to be able to afford those amazing high denominations. I'm calling this complete but I still will be on the lookout for a few more affordable barrels of 500s to complete the tournament set. Still missing those 500s but the 1k's and 5ks are maybe never going to happen tbh. Thanks to @turboj623 for offering the already relabeled 1k dover downs helped me get over the thought of never completing a 20k tournament set.
I'm gonna take a break from the costs and just enjoy the set, in the future I'll need a solution for the $500s. Either a few more barrels of $500s or I might punt and get a rack of the cheaper secondary 500s. Casually looking for just one rack of secondary hundreds. If I can't find the 500s I am looking for a rack of Mexican Kash 500s that was the first chip I fell in love with. Might use them as JD 500s or something else in the future.
