Not Mine A bunch of CPC customs (1 Viewer)

Is it possible that for some reason or another these ended up in the “unclaimed” or lost mail department and were auctioned off legitametaly to a buyer who just buys dead package stuff and lists it on eBay? I think this scenario is what happened with some of the Cancun chips a couple years back. Maybe there’s nothing nefarious, just the mail system working with its usual efficiency, misreading a phone number as a country code.

I find it hard to believe that might be the case. There was a tracking number, customs form, possibly invoice, David who had probably filed a report, etc.

I thought I already posted the circumstances. This package (along with others) was stolen from our local post office and recovered some time later. All paperwork had been removed so USPS were unable to track the owners or receivers. Some stupid law apparently prevents them from opening the mail to determine if anything inside the package reveals that (unless the law enforcement division has determined the package my contain contraband etc. which xray can't clearly identify). USPS law enforcement is still investigating how this happened.
Taking aside the extraordinary covid related circumstances under which the package which also contained samples was shipped, the samples are ordinarily stored in a safe which has a camera pointed at it, and the video is permanently recorded. Nevada Gaming have access to the recordings if they wish.

but let’s take the $500chip or even a $100 you could make a Chip exactly like one of the ones posted that wasn’t suppose to make it out but did, let’s say it’s a big home game or large room! Not only that but now whoever got a hold of these odds are they will do it again after cashing in on $800 score! They know address we’re these were shipped out of and we’re they was going!!! This seems to be an issue as well for us now also!

This doesn't make much sense to me.

First of, LeGold's chips were his and part of an order he made.
Like David pointed out, how can you make one exactly like the ones posted?
Ignoring that, if your security is based that there can't be any pictures of your design on the net, then every casino has an issue.

So in order for you to have an issue, the package with your samples has to be stolen, most likely by someone working in the postal system. Secondly it has to be sold to someone and this someone then either has to know where your samples has value or know someone who do know, and then sell them to this person. Finally this person has to sneak them into your game and cash it out.

I don't see how ordering new $100 or $500 chips would be economically feasible, seeing as you would be spending more money than what you're trying to potentially lose. However, if you do have $100.000 on the table each weekend I also assume you could afford to eat the $100+$500 loss that might incur if hell freezes over.

Edit: Also, your address were never on this package as it was never meant for you but for David in the UK.

Agree. A ton of us are playing with "duplicate" chips. I have a full set of HSI secondary cash, so do hundreds of other people. Many have Jack Detroit, Jack Cincinnati, Horseshoe Cincinnati, PCA, Lady Luck, etc, etc, etc.

It would by 100x easier to sneak a chip not from the bank into one of those games than it would be to duplicate a one of a kind CPC set that was custom made for one person. Seems like way too much effort for someone who is likely a friend of the host to try and scam a lower limit cash that most of us play. Most of the home game pictures that I see on this forum people are playing with $1 and $5 chips. Nobody is going to get scammed for thousands of dollars in fraudulent chips.

I'm not worried at all and will be putting my CPC order in soon. (well as soon as I can decide on my design..... :) )

I’m not saying some dude with a old chip machine lol. I’m saying a no inlay design created and ordered from David. Then go a label route for inlay.
Or is each custom design from a customer off limits from repeating on a no inlay or exact mold?

if that’s the case ok

but I was under impression that you could create any mold/edge spot combo you wanted unless it was a direct copy or too close of a current house chip in a casino.

In that case, where someone copies your design and re-label them, missing samples have even less of an impact.
Edit: Also, casinos run the same risk.

Not if it has been ordered/used by someone else previously, unless they give written permission.
If you had read the whole of this thread then you would know that.

That would be a rolling mill, planker, high pressure boiler, chiller, press, hydraulic pumps, a copy of the molds, spot punches and press, inlay printer, laminating press, centrifugal grinder and a bunch of other stuff including the recipes. Not to mention a few thousand square feet of spare space, safety equipment, licences etc. I guess if you had a spare $500,000 you could get one "old chip machine" up and running. Doubt you'd ever get replica chips out of it though.

non casino games...

Running chips into a game only works once, with 95% of the underground games out there. Once the games over and the rake doesn't add up, and the chips are too big for the racks, the gig is over. more than half of those games don't even break out black chips(100). You're actually paying to mess with some one's head, I can see it now, some dude has 3000 chips out on a table and combs through them 4 times before they can start to think about some one running in a chip. They would go batshit crazy, rocking in a corner trying to bite their ear ... 401 25s, aliens ... how did I miss that chip, did the rack shrink ... my chip are actually having babies ...

Running chips in really only works on dice chips (super common chips)

I would wager 100 bucks that anyone taking the effort, time, money to even put in the min order with CPC is over spending to try to run in chips in on a game. Let alone the dumb amount of wait time to get the mold your heart is set on or the game you're trying to rob.

Some of the largest games around town use dice chips, it would be easy to do it, but seriously why? To think that someone is soo into stealing that they would work so hard to steal from a game with nice chips when they throw a stone to get into a dice chip game.
