A new photo of the denominated Key West Resort & Casino chips.
We sold more chips in 2015 than in any year since we opened in 2012. We shipped Key West chips, playing cards, dealer buttons and gaming supplies to players in 17 countries across the globe. We kept our prices low, and actually made a profit. And we're on track to do even more this year.
Of course, success has brought a few growing pains.
We had a rush on chips around Christmas this year, and are nearly out of several denominations of our Key West chips. Not to worry. We're expecting news of a new shipment of chips from Classic Poker Chips any day now, and will certainly be ordering again as soon as they arrive.
In 2015, as in other years, scammers were everywhere. Each month, we received at least one e-mail from someone claiming interest in buying between one and three roulette wheels. If you know your wheels, you know they're not cheap, and are the item on our site with the highest retail price and value.
The scammers had a lot in common. English was never their first language, and they seemed to know absolutely nothing about actually playing roulette. Questions from them included, "How many roulettes come with wheel?" and "What size table is included?" They claimed to be "brokers," buying wheels for casinos in the Bahamas or even India, as if a bona fide casino company has no idea where to get a roulette wheel. Is roulette even legal in India?
A quick check of the e-mail coding always revealed these guys to be the internet equivalent of that "Nigerian Prince" who's always trying to share his fortune with us. This has led me to a rule I've followed through the year:
If I don't know you from the Poker Chip Forum, I'm very cautious when you contact the Key West. And if you are a member here, I will do all I can to get you the best possible price for our chips, cards, dealer buttons, or just about anything else you can find in a casino.
Thanks again to Tommy and all the members here for making this place the best online community for poker players, chip collectors, and vendors to share their great collections, new items, and vast knowledge. I'm looking forward to a great 2016, and wish everyone good luck this year -- at the tables and everywhere else.
