Cash Game 600 chip break down (1 Viewer)

So now I'm curious... For all those that suggest 200 quarters or 200 50c chips is excessive, what do you do for starting stacks? I always try to start with a minimum of 2 barrels (combined across all denominations) for each player. I feel only starting with 28-33 chips is just not enough, but if you cut the quarters in half, isn't that what you're going to end up with?

Yep, I'm definitely one of those who advocates less quarters... The only circumstance which, I believe, asks for more than a rack of quarters per table is when a game plays really small and the quarters are the workhorse chip, and those games usually necessitate even smaller chips, like 5¢ or 10¢...

Trust me, I'm all for more chips... The problem is that having too many chips that are used almost exclusively for blinds is counter-productive and slows the game in my opinion... No one would want stacks of quarters in from of them if the typical opening bet is, at a minimum, $2... To me, a much better way of spending 'chip money' is to load up on workhorse chips, whether $1, $5 or $25 (NE crew)...

If you believe more chips is better, have more $1s as part of your starting stack and less $5s to the point in which you reach your stated '30-ish' starting stack.

Having said that, I certainly understand preferences differ... That's just my own...

That gives me cool idea...

Poker chip heads-up set, for helping settle the inevitable marriage disputes. Art incorporates the couple's wedding date, and some imagery that they both connect on. Financed by PCF'ers would make it fairly cheap per person. If there's interest (and future Mrs Blaster is a poker player as well, otherwise decision resolutions would be very lopsided) this could take on a new thread...

I think he was alluding to me lol. @Blaster actually gave me a good idea....hmmm.....

That would drive my OCD crazy, not having all players start with same stacks.
Preparing 5 starting stacks with quarters and 5 stacks without doesn't tilt me.

But when all the chips start getting all mixed up after a few hands, and everybody ends up with different-sized stacks, well that really gets my OCD going..... o_O:confused::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

Valid points guys... You may be persuading me after all... Finding one rack of quarters will certainly be easier than finding two matching racks, that's for sure...
