When our home game was 0.50/1, bets are made in multiples of $1. Quarters only ever used fie small blind, which is why we needed so few.

If you're not going to let people actually bet the frac, why bother using it? So nits can save $0.50 once in a while?

Either allow the frac to be bet like a normal chip or make the game $1/1.

Why play $.50/$1.00 if you're not going to use the frac - just play $1/$1. If using the frac for the Small Blind puts you on tilt then why are you even on PCF? m0aR is always better

It sometimes amazes me how people insist on making life harder for themselves.
whta's the point of having 25c chip if it's only for the blind and illegal for bets? Just play 0.50/0.50 and all problems solved.

A Non-Denominated frac can play as either .25 or .50 without any substantial security risk.

I took my advice from BGinGA, if playing fixed limit $1/$2 and blinds are then .50/$1, we use .50 fracs as our main chip. So we play a 2 chip/4 chip format. So if my guys all buy in for $60 then we all get 120 (.50 fracs) any one who wants another $20, or $40, more after busting or getting to low, I give them $20 chip or $20 Andrew Jackson plaque from apache. Depends on if the guys want chips or want to get wild wild plaques that night, and they make change with chip leader or whoever. Some nights buy in for $80 and we all get 120 .50 fracs and one $20 chip to start.

Yep, I'd just run it as 1/1 and skip the fracs. Folks are to stuck on a SB/BB, just make 2 equal blinds and get on with it.

I agree with this. Though I have heard that its common in $2/5 games that the $1s don't play after the flop. I'm way to cheap to have any first-hand experience at $2/5.

I've moved to this method for all future cash sets. Instead I just will have a fractional chip that can be used for .25c or .50c depending on the stakes. In the past I've always used .25c chips for .50c/$1 games but have changed my mind over time.

If having 2 blinds (small, big) there needs to be a positional advantage (no matter how small) between the 2 blinds.

Well if you were at .50c/$1 and you don't want to allow bets in .50c increments then a single blind would be $1. If at $1/$2 stakes and using a single blind then $2.

There is no general rule prohibiting betting in non-whole multiples of the big blind (eg you can bet $5 or $7 in an $1/2 game), but there can certainly be a house rule saying so.

My handicapped, unmathematical brain hates values ending in .25 or .75, so I would demand that bets be made in whole multiples of the big blind (.50) in a .25/.50 game in my house, out of personal preference.

But, lately, I 've been tabling .50/1E games anyway. With ND fracs, of course.

Edit: A single blind is good for no more than 6 players.
