Added options for rules for bets in multiples of $1. Select "50c" if you use 50c and allow multiples of 50c.

Questions for science:
  1. If you run a 50c / $1 game, what is the smallest denomination in your set: 25c or 50c?
  2. If you use a 25c chip, do you make players bet in multiples of 25c or 50c?

Why play $.50/$1.00 if you're not going to use the frac - just play $1/$1. If using the frac for the Small Blind puts you on tilt then why are you even on PCF? m0aR is always better :wtf:

And I made this Diamond Jacks set work for $.25/$.25 or $.25/$.50

Background note: the purpose of this poll is to see typical setups for 50c / $1 game. Either as a 1 chip : 2 chip ratio, or a 2 chip : 4 chip ratio.

I am not considering a $1 chip in this case. I'm mainly focused on the smallest chip in the case.

It sometimes amazes me how people insist on making life harder for themselves.
whta's the point of having 25c chip if it's only for the blind and illegal for bets? Just play 0.50/0.50 and all problems solved.

btw, disclaimer, myself with the group started playing 0.50/1 and ditched the fracs altogether, now just playing 1/1.

I took my advice from BGinGA, if playing fixed limit $1/$2 and blinds are then .50/$1, we use .50 fracs as our main chip. So we play a 2 chip/4 chip format. So if my guys all buy in for $60 then we all get 120 (.50 fracs) any one who wants another $20, or $40, more after busting or getting to low, I give them $20 chip or $20 Andrew Jackson plaque from apache. Depends on if the guys want chips or want to get wild wild plaques that night, and they make change with chip leader or whoever. Some nights buy in for $80 and we all get 120 .50 fracs and one $20 chip to start.

This is the right answer to everything.

Minimum bet = 1bb
Minimum increment = smallest chip in play

If you don't want people to be able to increment bets with the smallest chip, take it off the table imo.
I agree with this. Though I have heard that its common in $2/5 games that the $1s don't play after the flop. I'm way to cheap to have any first-hand experience at $2/5.

A Non-Denominated frac can play as either .25 or .50 without any substantial security risk.
I've moved to this method for all future cash sets. Instead I just will have a fractional chip that can be used for .25c or .50c depending on the stakes. In the past I've always used .25c chips for .50c/$1 games but have changed my mind over time.

But I agree, why have a frac if it's only allowed for blinds and nothing else? Granted I still believe that the small blind & the big blind should never be the same amount ie; .50/.50 or $1/$1, Instead just have a single blind. If having 2 blinds (small, big) there needs to be a positional advantage (no matter how small) between the 2 blinds.

I'm not opposed to identical blinds, but a single-blind structure could certainly work too.

Now, the big question: Is that single blind $1 or $2?

Well if you were at .50c/$1 and you don't want to allow bets in .50c increments then a single blind would be $1. If at $1/$2 stakes and using a single blind then $2.

There is no general rule prohibiting betting in non-whole multiples of the big blind (eg you can bet $5 or $7 in an $1/2 game), but there can certainly be a house rule saying so.

My handicapped, unmathematical brain hates values ending in .25 or .75, so I would demand that bets be made in whole multiples of the big blind (.50) in a .25/.50 game in my house, out of personal preference.

But, lately, I 've been tabling .50/1E games anyway. With ND fracs, of course.

Edit: A single blind is good for no more than 6 players.

I assume this is for NL or PL? And not a fixed limit game?
