I agree with others. I don't care for the black 5. I don't care either way on serial numbers.

I vote no serials, red five, white edge if we are getting rid of the black five. I don't really care much on the stripe though.

I'm easy peasy on serials, and side colors. I think I agree with Dave that the black looks like a mistake only because it is not oversize. I would probably go with red five here as well.

FWIW, of all the MSK samples I have (a bunch), the ones with a white stripe are by far the least impressive - the ones with a color stripe look outstanding in stacks. Just sayin'.

I assume we can split the order, just guessing we'll incur an added setup fee. I'm sure they see it as a "different production run" on their end - even though they probably make them all at the same time.

Here are some more stripe setups. And after looking at it further, I agree with @Poker Zombie that black may not fit this design. But it's really hard to judge. I'm game for either white or red (personally, I think the red fits a $5 best), and happy to split up the order if there's enough demand for two colors.

The problem with white is that the color stripe has a white border -- so a white stripe just looks huge without the classy pinstripe effect displayed by all the other colors.

I like the all white block on the Majestics that have it but with such a light colored plaque color I do think the black looks better. Changing my vote to black. I think the white looks sweet on other colors though.

So, after some deliberation, it seems the Matsui $5 plaque just isn't practical. Pushing $18 a pop at cost, it just doesn't make much sense.

That said, I am moving forward with having a $5.00 plaque mocked up by MSK Gaming. Their quality doesn't seem to be on par with Matsui's, but at around $4 a plaque, they are hard to beat.

82mmx57mm rectangular, round corner
Approx. $4.00 - $4.50 per plaque (ballpark - final pricing won't be available until total quantities are known)

Notes:

• Special thanks to @SixSpeedFury for inspiring this plaque trend, and @p5woody for the artwork!
• This is not a "profit" group buy. Plaques will be sold at cost, PLUS shipping, PayPal, and reshipping fees, and a per-plaque artwork fee to P5, which will be fully disclosed in this post. I want to avoid all BS and butt-hurt-ness, and will strive to keep this project fully transparent.
• I have no idea on timeline for delivery yet, but details should be coming soon.
• GB close date? One hasn't been determined yet - waiting to see what initial interest is like.

For my 2 cents, I don't like the black 5 as the other two plaques did not have off colored numbers. I understand realism, and redirect it if that's the majority choice, but would honestly prefer the same color.

• I will be instructing the factory to swap the black 5 with a "standard" five.

• Also, I will post one more mockup from the factory before closing the ordering.

• As shipping will increase as orders increase, final totals will not be available until GB closes, but please plan on the $4.00 - $4.50 per plaque price quoted in the OP.

• MSK is closing the factory for a week for an upcoming trade show, so there is no rush on this. We have at least 10 days before this GB closes.

Okay might be a dumb question but if we did a green base would it give it a greater appearance of the currency? I'm guessing the green is not the right shade and would affect the overall look but was just a thought/question. I was actually surprised there wasn't at least one vote for green given that the basis was greenbacks.

Damn it I just got my $100's kind of makes me wish we could have stuck with Matsui. I know the economics of it don't work and even I'd probably cut my order number in half but hot damn they are nice. Sorry not knocking your efforts and it appears to be a quality decision as the number of participants is much greater, carry on.

I totally agree with you. Matsui's are bar none, hands down, the best. But it's hard to justify $18 for a $5 plaque.

Also seeing how these will be approx the same size thought I'd share this storage solution

I could probably get 11 in the 150 count. They make a few different sizes as well. I think this box on Amazon was like $6 and on prime.

I got the invoice back from MSK, and we're looking at about $4.20 per plaque (includes shipping to USA, setup fees, etc.). However, this does not include the 100 order I just got from Apache, and others who mentioned they want to get in before we close this out. That said, shipping could go up quite a bit, so I recommend budgeting $4.30-$4.35 per plaque.

Now... I'd like to hook up P5woody on this GB, as he's been doing all of the artwork, and adjustments, and tweaks, entirely for free. I'm thinking we'll approach, and may exceed, 400 total. And keeping with my original promise for transparency, how does $100 to P5 sound to everyone? That will end up being about $0.25 per plaque (depending on total orders).

Let's discuss this freely (and politely), and let's reward a fellow member for contributing his time and labor to this project.

Wouldn't increased shipping spread out over all the plaques actually take the price down? Especially since the fixed set-up fees are being spread across more plaques. Unless it's a huge shipping jump for just a few more plaques added to the order.... Sounds strange that the average price would actually increase.

If woody is okay with $100, okay by me.
